Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining system-related documentation for the authorization switching applications. This will include system overview documents, user/reference manuals, online help, training materials and Share Point site content.
Writes, reviews, edits, and enhances paper-based and multimedia documentation, online help, training materials, and website content for multiple complex technology-based applications. Proficiency with Sharepoint and Wiki creation will be a distinct advantage.
New and Existing Documentation
Applies a thorough understanding of system-related features, functions, and processes to develop and maintain business line training materials.
Leads and participates in documentation review meetings with application development team and the business line, including management, to ensure quality of finished documentation product. Produce concise, intuitive and clear training materials that illustrate the structure and key concepts of the switching applications.
Uses and provides feedback on highly complex software products and works closely with development teams to create and maintain useful help functions and features.
Participates in the development and application of relevant quality and industry workplace standards; applies best practices for readability, style, and information security.
Participate in the research and evaluation of documentation methodologies, tools, techniques, and automation opportunities.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience required:
IT Systems Documentation required at least 5 years.
Experience with the research, design, development and maintenance of all types of system-related documentation.
BA Bachelor of Arts or BS Bachelor of Science
Be competent in the following areas:
IT environment, Visio, Microsoft Office
Application Delivery Process
Application Development Tools
Tech writing/documentation, Adobe Acrobat Professional

The technical writers role is to produce high quality product documentation for the end user. You will own the entire documentation production process; from creating doc templates and styles guides, through writing the content, having it reviewed, administering the release cycle, versioning, maintenance and carrying out the training to both our staff and to our clients.
You will enhance product documentation, ensuring quality, usability, completeness and timely delivery. You will use and explore the product to understand how it works, liaise with our savvy developers and product owners on new features to be documented, identify areas for improvement in the existing documentation and lend your expertise in proofreading and editing various other kinds of written material.
You will be responsible for delivering Training on all technical aspects and components that make up the company solution.
Maintain, update and enhance existing documentation, and create new documentation for company products. This includes User Guides, Installation Guides, Technical Environment Guidelines, Release Notes and customer-specific supplements among others
Write with clarity, simplicity and flair
Create and use a style guide and standard templates.
Create diagrams, take screenshots and perform basic image editing.
Use various tools such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
Collaborate with members of various departments (such as solution architects, business analysts and software engineers) to update existing documentation and to produce new documents.
Edit and format documents by other staff members to ensure that the material follows the style guide.
Follow stringent version-control procedures and keep an accurate record of changes made to documents.
Deliver training to both internal staff, contractors and clients as required.
3-4 years of experience in writing software product documentation.
Experience in giving training to both internal staff and clients
You need to be proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
More important is your ability to study and understand new software and concepts quickly and then explain them to users in clear English that is easy to read
Ability to explain sophisticated product functionality in clear and simplified English.
Experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle.
