Description: I am currently recruiting an experienced Business Analyst (Life and Pensions experience is a must for this role)

Permanent role

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of BA estimates & plans
• Liaise with customer counterparts and actively drive out customer requirements
• Provide industry expertise / advice to clients, project delivery teams, sales teams
• Conduct workshops, system demonstrations and presentations
• Create and maintain specifications (product requirement, functional requirement, etc…)
• Undertake peer reviews of specifications
• Conduct specification walkthroughs (for other project delivery teams)
• Assist and participate in the specification sign-off process
• Provide support to the various project delivery teams (development, QA, Data Migration, UAT)
• Assist with client and project delivery team training
• Participate in defect resolution (e.g. correct a product rule)
• Daily reporting of BA progress


Competency Profile:

• Highly experienced in the Financial Services. Life and Pensions experience is a must for this role
• Highly experienced in business analysis processes and methodologies
• Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Highly experienced in working with a variety of software development methodologies
• Good knowledge of project management work practices

Job Description:
• Responsible for overseeing the IT security standards, policies and procedures appropriate to the Information Security needs of the company.
• Overall system security Design Authority for the system security architecture.
• Responsible for design of security processes, security technical subsystems and components, implementation and integration within overall wider systems, projects and third parties accessing technologies.
• Presentation of security approach and designs to senior management and IT colleagues
• Maintain awareness and understanding of applicable EU, state and industry regulations and aligning risk controls and technology with them
• Ensuring business understanding of key IT security risks and IT risk strategies and their impact through effective communication, awareness raising and training initiatives
• Responsible for the development and presentation of security related policies and documentation.
• Leading the process of defining the security design of all IT systems, including high level and detailed design planning and/or reviews
• Maintain a deep understanding of infrastructure IT security and risk trends as well as a high level of expertise around enterprise products and technologies
• Provide continuity and consistency in all major IT security solution decisions.
• Provide input to develop and maintain the IT Strategy.
• Work with the Applications and Infrastructure Architects to determine how technology can be applied to meet business needs.

Education and experience:
• Degree in business computer science or a related field.
• At least seven years of secure system design and implementation.
• Deep understanding and application of the security disciplines, processes, concepts and best practices.
• Deep understanding and application of secure network design, secure information architecture, secure internet service delivery.
• Working knowledge of TOGAF (nice to have).
• Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally, using strong influencing skills to achieve business goals.
• A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of technical / professional decisions on the performance of the organisation.
• Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering desired results.
• Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external) with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
• Highly motivated individual with strong leadership and technical problem solving skills.
• ITIL Certification to Manager Level is desirable.

SUMMARY
• Analyzes operations procedures, processes, and problems to identify areas for automation or improved workflow.
• Reviews workflow to evaluate effectiveness and proposes system changes to improve productivity.
• Interacts with staff in analyzing existing operational procedures and interpreting how client needs can be better met.
• Details client and business requirements for management approval.
• Works as part of the project team to design, UAT and roll out projects.
• Supplies operational support to users for new and existing systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviews existing procedures, processes, and problems and recommends where automation or improved processes can be implemented.
• Investigates and identifies root causes of errors.
• Re-engineers processes to ensure that client needs are met and efficient processes are in place.
• Interacts with staff in systems and operations to formulate and implement solutions to improve processing.
• Determines business requirements. Prepares feasibility and cost effectiveness proposals for the docket meetings
• Helps management priorties workload to meet urgent client requests and emergency fixes and longer term solutions
• Creates and writes procedures for manual workflow or system changes for the work area.
• Coordinates testing of new systems and system modifications in accordance with NT’s SDLC Policy.
• Writes proposals for system changes/enhancements. Implements new efficiencies to improve accuracy and timeliness and reduce costs.
• Works on the implementing of tactical solutions and looks to insure the company strategic goals are being followed in line with Northern Trust project frontier.
• Coordinates work station set up, selecting appropriate technology.
• Instructs staff on new system procedures.
• Provides technical support for system exception processing for staff in an area.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge of transfer agency system capabilities, preferably QFAS or Multifonds.
• A working knowledge of SWIFT and/or exposure to Web based technology would be advantageous but not critical.
• Knowledge of system capabilities, usually obtained through formal training or experience with PC or mainframe applications, is required to assess automation possibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Fund Administration with particular emphasis on the Transfer Agency.
• Advanced analytical skills at Business and Project level.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Can work methodically and on own initiative
