Troubleshoot technical issues.
Qualifications\Technologies:
Degree in I.T. or equivalent experience
AS400 , DB2 , COBOL, SQL.
Servers configuration.
Visual Basic script.
FTP scripts.
Windows command line.
Skills & Experience:
Have at least 2-3 years experience in analysis, design, and development
Proven Track record of achieving results in relation to delivery of change within agreed budgets and timescales.
Should have good organizational and time management skills.
Should be an enthusiastic team worker with strong verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Customer focussed.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and to balance multiple tasks.
Track record of trouble shooting and ability to to adapt quickly to different technology.

Job Purpose
Provides first line support to a wide range of applications, systems & infrastructure within the Group Internationally.
Assists in the development, implementation and the service delivery of IT Hardware and Software solutions to match the planned growth of all business capabilities.
Distinguishing Features
This role needs to be able to provide immediate responses to business/system requirements.
Be customer focussed with a high ability in problem solving.
Role holder will need to a reasonable level of business knowledge/processes to provide acceptable solutions.
Main Accountabilities Performance Indicators
User Support & Help desk - SFIA level 3
For all requests, provides an effective interface between users and service providers.
Uses judgement to set priority for resolution, monitor progress and apply escalation procedures for problems not progressing satisfactorily.
Ensures that requests for assistance are properly logged, and responded to in a timely manner and according to agreed standards and procedures
Ensures adherence to escalation procedures. Responds to escalated, complex and high impact user calls in a timely fashion.
Assists in the maintenance of an inventory of equipment supported by the Help Desk together with logs of user details, problems and resolutions, for administration and planning purposes.
Ensures that documentation of the supported systems and software is available and in an appropriate form for those receiving calls.
Adhering to internal SLA
Gathers and records service level information. Produces statistics for use in measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensuring client satisfaction prior to call closure.
Network Admin & Support - SFIA level 3
Assists in the day-to-day operation of all systems used for the transmission of data, voice, text facsimile, image and video, within an organisation's communications network infrastructure.
Investigating and resolving problems and providing information about the systems.
Uses network management systems software and appropriate analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and create reports, including proposals for improvement.
Investigates and diagnoses network problems, working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate. Resolves such problems, co-operating with the capacity management function, to maintain overall network performance.
Close collaboration with the systems' developers, operations and support companies to ensure maximum network availability
Up to date network infrastructure diagrams
Service Delivery - SFIA level 3
Performs defined tasks associated with measuring the quantity and quality of service according to documented service level agreements between the users and suppliers of the service.
Assists in the maintenance or improvement in the levels of service within area of authority,
Uses support tools to integrate and analyse the basic information and present it in comparison to SLA requirements in a manageable and meaningful format.
Ensures that variances against service levels are highlighted to their manager, while trying to resolve any conflict or contention for service.
Monitors the levels of service achieved, keeping detailed and clear metrics, and records all deviations from service levels.
Adherence to Internal SLAs
Configuration, Change & Capacity Management - SFIA level 3
Assists in the documentation, software, hardware and firmware IS assets in terms of their identification as configuration items.
Assists with changes to the components of a live infrastructure, from request for change (RFC) through to implementation and review.
Assists in the matching of hardware, software, network and overall system capability and capacity to meet current and predicted needs for ICT services in a cost effective manner.
Ensures appropriate versions of a product's or system's or organisation's assets or components are available and managed.
Monitors, maintains capacity in storage and hardware availability to ensure adequate system performance.
Telecommunications Management - SFIA level 3
Takes responsibility for the resolution of telecommunications problems, including technical negotiation with users, specialists, other staff and suppliers as appropriate.
Assists in the responsibility for installing, configuring and commissioning new telecommunications systems and improvements to the existing telecommunications environment.
Robust and Effective telephone & communication systems
Timeliness and quality of reports provided to management.
Compliance with data protection measures for voice & data communication
Business Continuity Planning - SFIA level 3
To assist the provision of business continuity planning and support for IS.
Assists in the testing and maintenance procedures and contingency plans to address exposures and maintain agreed levels of continuity within the IS infrastructure
Provides input to business continuity planning process and implements resulting plans.
Identification of information systems which support critical business processes & the assessment of risks to those systems

Provide support, troubleshooting, problem analysis, diagnosis and resolution for applications based on the companys operating procedures.
Maintain / develop software within or related to applications in accordance with established coding standards and using the companys chosen technical change management tool.
Analyse proposed application and business process changes; ascertain potential impact, document functional and technical requirements, develop test plans.
Actively review standards, procedures and new technologies to ensure best practices are employed within the companys technical environment.

Skills
Strong experience in analysis, design, development, testing and support of application systems.
Minimum of five years experience in IBM System i environment with RPG/400 and RPG/IV.
Good knowledge of System i work management, operating system, CL, SQL, Query/400.
Experience working with system integration between System i and other applications/systems.
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
Object oriented languages (java, visual basic).
Experience with web services development.
Experience with XML data interchange.
Experience with BPMS systems
