Description: Overview:
Excellent client based in Dublin South (Dartline) is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to be responsible for the daily Network administration of key network and security infrastructure in addition to acting as a key resource on network infrastructure projects as required. This role will involve managing network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, intrusion detection systems, network scanning and change control auditing.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
o On-going management of firewall and loadbalancer changes
o Implementation, documentation and troubleshooting of network configurations, ensuring security and redundancy. Solid experience of OSPF, BGP, Router redundancy protocols, VPN, ISDN, MPLS, Spanning-tree, VTP and network device security hardening will be particularly valued
o Management and tuning of Intrusion Detection Systems, knowledge of network vulnerability scanning & change audit tools and appropriate response to alerts/threats
o Detailed knowledge and experience of network monitoring and troubleshooting
Skill Set:
Previous experience
o A strong background in general administration of network and systems
o Display a competent and a broad working knowledge of networks and systems
o Application of detailed network knowledge and certifications in these areas
o Preferably strong working experience with Build and maintenance of Cisco firewall
o Change management and change implementation in High Availability Enterprise environments
o At least 3 years recent Cisco Network experience of dedicated network and information security
o Experience of the banking or financial services industries would be a distinct advantage

The ideal candidate will possess:
• BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Practical experience with Cisco and Juniper network products. CCNA or higher a

• Programming skills in any of the following: Perl, PHP, C, shell scripting.
