My client based in South Dublin is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team. This is exciting permanent role with lots of daily challenges and you will be maintaining a critical portion of the Irish IP infrastructure.

Job Description:
This role is ideal for a candidate who has extensive experience and is looking for a varied role in a small but busy team.

Skill Set:
• Excellent working knowledge of DNS and Internet protocols.
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent, at a minimum.
• Cisco routing and switching, Juniper routing and firewall, & Checkpoint firewall experience.
• Strong proficiency in networking protocols and techniques (e.g. BGP, OSPF, Anycast), their
• configuration, and deployment in Internet Exchange environments.
• Experience with some or all of the following: HSRP, VRRP, NSRP, Load Balancing, IPv6, LACP.
• Knowledge of virtualisation products, specifically VMware ESX.
• Experience with Security Policy development and Disaster recovery. Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as OSSIM, Splunk, Nagios and MRTG.
• Experience with IPSec, OpenVPN and inter-site VPNs.
• Knowledge of networked storage, HP SANs, NAS devices, Data Domain storage systems
• Virtual Tape Libraries

The primary function is to provide support to the ICT data and voice network of the company
Essential qualifications required:
Third level Degree in a technical field
Hold an up to date CCNP or higher
Experience in dealing with complex IP and networking issues with at least 3+ years hands-on experience in a Network Support Administrator role
Have experience working with VoIP Telecommunications and Unified Communications
Have comprehensive knowledge in Windows 2003/2008 Server, ISA Server 2006, Windows Clustering and Active Directory Domain structures
Experience analysing user requirements, evaluating solutions and Project Management of solutions to implementation;
Excellent working knowledge of enterprise level security technologies (firewalls, web proxies, email gateways)
Key Duties:
1.Providing the most critical systems with support.
2.Work as part of the ICT Support and Operations Teams
3.Ensure the highest levels of security and data integrity is maintained on all systems across the group
4.Help design, develop and commission the new network and telecommunications equipment projects
5.Support Windows 2003/2008 servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange 2007, SQL2005
6.Network monitoring, status reporting, system documentation and logging all important incident information
7.Analysing user requirements, evaluating solutions and Project Management of solutions to implementation
8.Complete all levels of support, log service calls in a centralised service desk system and work directly with the service desk with their calls
