Overview:
My client is a large corporate financial firm and they are looking for a Network Support Specialist, the company has a large IT team in place and the role supports one of Ireland's largest Cisco Networks (Data and Voice). The position is within the Telecoms department of an IT Infrastructure division.
The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team environment, providing 2nd level network support to our internal customers on one of the largest Cisco networks within Ireland.
Technologies used in this department include: Cisco Switches/Routers, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco ADSM & Checkpoint Firewalls, F5 Content Load Balancers, , Infoblox DNS/DHCP, VoIP, SolarwindsNPM, Cisco Telepresence, Enterprise Wireless.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily administration and support of the entire network.
Adherence to IT Incident, Problem & Change procedures to ensure availability, security and reliability of the production environment.
Provide on-call support as part of a rota to support 24 x 7 services.
Participation in and support of major data/voice projects.
Provide support to all end users of the telecommunications infrastructure across the organisation.
Technical Skills/Attributes
5+ years experience in 2nd Level Cisco Data & Voice network support and administration (routing/switching, ADSM Firewall, Call Manager).
CCNA qualification essential.
CVoice qualification advantageous.
Checkpoint Firewall Manager, F5 Content Load Balancers, Unity Connections Voicemail Manager, Cisco Telepresence, Enterprise Wireless advantageous.
2+ years VoIP experience advantageous.
ITIL V3 Foundation certification advantageous.
Experienced in use of enterprise management and monitoring systems
Excellent customer service attitude and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner are required. Takes personal responsibility for resolving difficult, contentious or complex issues.
Ability to identify and analyze issues and problems, develop solutions and use judgment to make sound and dependable decisions.
Ability to contribute to positive team environment by assisting co-workers whenever necessary to enhance the professional development of everyone within the team.
Ability to communicate with own team members, other support areas, vendors and customers, exchanging ideas, information and instructions in a clear and concise manner.
Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a project team. Project Team Leader experience advantageous.

Overview:
The Network Infrastructure Analyst within the Infrastructure & Operations team will be responsible for providing operational and technical support to staff and relevant IT Systems. This includes interaction with external suppliers of technology. The responsibilities may include ICT planning and staff mentoring. Providing support to stakeholders as part of the clients help-desk function also resides within this team and responsibilities in this regard may be assigned by the IT Manager. The appointee will be required to have excellent problem solving, technical and people skills. The appointee will be required to resolve complex issues to satisfactory outcome and will be required to deal confidently and respectfully with the user and vendor community. The successful candidate will contribute to systems expertise as part of a multi-skilled team responsible for delivering technology solutions that extend, optimise and maintain our IT systems. We seek a proven track record of systems architecture, design and implementation and the ability to work with other technology disciplines to deliver solutions, with a strong level of Networking, Wireless Networking, Firewall & Security technologies as being key to the role. Reporting: Reporting directly to the IT Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic:
Supporting the IT Manager in the operation of the Infrastructure & Operations section.
Contribution to, and implementing the overall infrastructure strategy (in conjunction with the IT Management team)
Contributing to the development of best practice processes and frameworks for the area and ensuring systems, services and processes are properly documented
Supporting the IT function in delivering on the ICT Strategy
Academic Qualification / Skill Set:
The ideal candidate will have:
Achieved or working towards a 3rd level or comparable ICT qualification/accreditation
3+ Years relevant experience in a similar role.
Extensive Networking experience in a server and desktop environment, including switches (Fibre and copper), VLANs, TCPIP and Wireless networking, Trapeze technologies in particular.
Strong working knowledge of Checkpoint Firewall-1, VPNs, Remote Access, Cisco routers.
Systems Administration and Troubleshooting Windows 2003/2008 related technologies e.g. Active Directory, Clustering
Strong Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server Security is an advantage.
Good client/customer awareness
Track record to demonstrate organising and planning capability
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work intuitively
Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate work
Project ownership and ability to work within deadlines / timelines
Ability to provide support to technical and non-technical staff
Good communication, report writing and interpersonal skills
