Mainframe Systems Programmer

Minimum experience required: 6 - 7

Ideally I am looking for someone comming from an Application background that has moved into a Systems Programming role. Someone with excellent benchmarking and performance experience but can also write application code. Strong Websphere experience is also necessary.


Minimum of 5 years "Mainframe Systems Programming" with CICS, DB2, RACF, WebSphere, and some experiences in IMS as well as Linux/Unix.

• CICS
• Websphere-MQ
• Z/OS Operating System (JES2)
• Parallel Sysplex Configuration Design, Implementation and Management , DB2 Data Sharing
• WLM Based Performance Management
• DFSMS / HSM

Secondary Technical Skills and Experience

• IMS-TM/DM
• Linux/Unix
• IBM/BMC Fastpath Tools
• IBM/Platinum DB2 Tools
• Omegamon Realtime Monitoring SA/390 Automations
• RACF
• VM operating system

Required Soft skills

• Proficiency in the creation of technical documentation using MS-Office tools
• Excellent intra-personal and team participation skills
• Self motivated and capable of demonstrating individual initiative
• Professional and flexible approach to delivery of assigned work tasks
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call support rota
