Job Description:
• Responsible for overseeing the IT security standards, policies and procedures appropriate to the Information Security needs of the company.
• Overall system security Design Authority for the system security architecture.
• Responsible for design of security processes, security technical subsystems and components, implementation and integration within overall wider systems, projects and third parties accessing technologies.
• Presentation of security approach and designs to senior management and IT colleagues
• Maintain awareness and understanding of applicable EU, state and industry regulations and aligning risk controls and technology with them
• Ensuring business understanding of key IT security risks and IT risk strategies and their impact through effective communication, awareness raising and training initiatives
• Responsible for the development and presentation of security related policies and documentation.
• Leading the process of defining the security design of all IT systems, including high level and detailed design planning and/or reviews
• Maintain a deep understanding of infrastructure IT security and risk trends as well as a high level of expertise around enterprise products and technologies
• Provide continuity and consistency in all major IT security solution decisions.
• Provide input to develop and maintain the IT Strategy.
• Work with the Applications and Infrastructure Architects to determine how technology can be applied to meet business needs.
• Maintain knowledge and deep expertise in the technology security and risk landscape relevant to the company
• Resolve high-level functional issues as they emerge.
• An active “agent for change” in the organization.
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with each business area.
• Support and contribute to other management processes and disciplines within IT and business areas: Examples are …
o Service Portfolio, Availability, Release, Change, Service Validation and Test, Incident, Event, Problem, Access and Identity
• With Job Rotation, responsibilities may be extended to include other applications and the successful candidate will need to skill-up to have a working knowledge of these applications

Education and experience:
• Degree in business computer science or a related field.
• At least seven years of secure system design and implementation.
• Deep understanding and application of the security disciplines, processes, concepts and best practices.
• Deep understanding and application of secure network design, secure information architecture, secure internet service delivery.
• Working knowledge of TOGAF (nice to have).
• Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally, using strong influencing skills to achieve business goals.
• A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of technical / professional decisions on the performance of the organisation.
• Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering desired results.
• Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external) with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
• Highly motivated individual with strong leadership and technical problem solving skills.
• ITIL Certification to Manager Level is desirable.

Description: My Dublin based client are currently recruiting a Security Architect - Manager Level. This is a permanent role with a large corporate organisation in Dublin Southside. The Security Architecture function operates within the Enterprise Architecture group in Operations and Technology. Its primary function is to develop and maintain the Enterprise Security Architecture and associated strategy, roadmaps and blueprints required to ensure that the organisation remains aligned to industry best practice for IT Security across the organisation into the future. It also involves the maintenance of a technical security architecture design, promoting cases for security improvement projects and for reviewing the effectiveness of controls in processes supporting the information security infrastructure.
A position now exists, at Manager level, for a Security Architect in the Technical Architecture team. A detailed understanding of all IT infrastructure and application disciplines is a requirement for this role.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role will be:
§ Ensure the organisation has a clearly documented and up-to-date technical security architecture in place. Work closely with IT teams, Technical Architecture and Information Security in designing this.
§ Support and enable business and IT transformation, ensuring security requirements are identified as early as possible in the change cycle, and aligned with organisation Security Strategy.
§ Based on identified gaps in the IT security architecture, promote and/or sponsor the case for projects to implement solutions to these gaps
§ Review the adequacy of process controls in the secure management of our IT applications and IT infrastructure
§ Develop the knowledge and capability to participate in all aspects of Technical Architecture within the Enterprise Architecture framework
During the selection process, the successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate experience and ability in the following competencies:
1. Technical
Detailed understanding of security as it relates to all IT disciplines and services with the ability to define and drive the adoption of IT Security Strategy, develop and maintain Technical Security Architecture, undertake relevant IT security research, perform an IT security advisory role for organisation and drive the development and adoption of Technology Deployment Security Standards.
2. Communication & Influencing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce clear and concise reports and persuasive presentations. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and influence effectively at different levels.
3. Leadership
The ability to be a lateral and forward thinker, have strong research and analytical skills and the qualities to lead change and inspire others to achieve the vision.
4. Strategic Thinking
The ability to define strategy that is aligned to business strategy and to the adoption of emerging technologies. Assessment of overall IT Security posture of the organisation and development of plans to improve the security posture and to articulate the business risks associated with this.
5. Customer Relationship Building
The ability to build productive, collaborative, working relationships and ability to understand business pressures and security requirements that exist in business areas.
6. Problem Solving and Decision Making
A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to identifying and analysing issues and problems, developing solutions and using judgements to make sound and dependable decisions, sometimes from a position of uncertainty.

Role Description

A vacancy exists within this function for an Information Security Specialist.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates with 2-5 years experience in the delivery of Information Security services. A recognised Information Security qualification such as CISSP would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
1.Provide advice and guidance to IT and Business areas on the application and operation of security controls, including legislative or regulatory requirements.
2.Provide guidance on all aspects of security policy and standards, and contribute to the development of standards.
3.Co-facilitate Information Security risk assessments. Prepare appropriate technical overviews of systems under review to support the risk analysis. Assist in the preparation of recommendations of appropriate action to IT and business management based on the analysis conducted.
4.Conduct information security control reviews, under the guidance of more experienced or specialised practitioners as required. Recommend appropriate action to IS and business management

•Professional designation such as an Information Security certification such as CISSP, CEH, CCNA, CCSP, CISA or CISM that establishes credibility and capability in the Information Security market;
