Description: Excellent Financial Services company in Dublin City Centre is looking for an experienced Oracle Data Warehouse Architect. This is a permanent role paying €70-80000k per annum plus Bonus 10-15%, Pension 15%, VHI and extra's.
In the job of Oracle Data Warehouse Architect you will be responsible for all Data warehouse architecture. Strong understanding of Data Modeling, Data Analysis, ETL architecture, Database design, OLAP, and Reporting in financial industry.
Qualifications/Must Have for the job:
◦B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent degree; or equivalent industry experience.
◦7+ years of working in various data management initiatives.
◦Thorough understanding of ODS, Data Warehouse, Data Marts and Cubes
◦Previous experience in gathering requirements for reporting solutions and data analysis in financial industry.
◦Strong Database fundamentals and data modeling knowledge.
◦Outstanding experience in Logical and Physical data modeling in OLTP and OLAP environments (multi dimensional modeling and hierarchies) especially modeling financial schemas
◦In depth knowledge of developing Data Warehouses methodology (eg Kimball).
◦Strong SQL and PL/SQL required (Stored Procedures, PL/SQL Packages).
◦Experience with Oracle 10g/11g required (Materialized views, Query rewrite etc).
◦Strong business and communications skills.
Roles/Responsibilities of the Oracle Data warehouse Architect:
◦Define and implement overall Datawarehouse architectures and related methodologies (eg ETL processes, ODS, EDW, Data Marts, aggregation, etc.) for successful delivery on data warehousing project engagements.
◦Define and implement technical requirements, technical and data architectures for data warehouses. Recommend supplemental Data warehouse strategies and technologies if needed.
◦Interact with development teams, direct the analysis and translate user requirements into technical directives, architecture vision and implementation plans.
◦Define and implement policies, procedures and governance for Data warehouse implementations.
◦Develop and lead staff within the Data Management & Integration Practice

Main duties and responsibilities
•Develop BI strategy for large organization
•Working with BI development team to maintain and enhance exiting/new data warehouses and BI solutions
•Work with BI development team to troubleshoot BI and data warehouse issues
•Own the operational aspects of the Data Warehouse for all business units
•Explore solution options and implement new solutions, enchancements, fixes
•Create dashboard design patterns, standards, and templates
•Design and implement caching and performance architecture for BI tools
•Manage/Mentor/Coach and arrange training for BI team members
•Liaise with the business on BI issues and design
•Cover for Business Objects developer (run ETL scripts, deliver reports, monitor loads) where necessary
•Support all Enterprise DW universes
•Provide input when required to support the procurement of new hardware/infrastructure
•Manage BI team to support testing for new projects/changes
•Responsible for the BI budget and for fulfilling all reporting requirements
•Keep up to date with industry and technical developments through communications with colleagues and attendance at events
•Out of hours working will be required from time to time.
•Other duties will be assigned form time to time
Qualifications/Requirements
•At least ten years ‘hands on’ ‘Data warehousing’ experience, five of which would be working as a Business Intelligence Architect
•Business Intelligence project life-cycle experience through the application of industry best practice methodologies
•Extensive dimensional modellingand Business Objects experience
•Solid understanding of leading Business Intelligence technologies (Primarily in Business Objects XI R2 or 3.1: Web Intelligence, Universe Designer, XI Administration (CMC), Crystal Reports, knowledge of Xcelcius)
•Strong PL/SQL and Oracle DBMS skills
•Experience in Exadata is highly desirable
•Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g. Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica e.t.c.)
•Strong analysis and design skill
•Experience in managing teams, projects and stakeholders
•Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or a related field.
•Highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative to meet deadlines
•High level of personal organisation skills and time management
•Ability to thrive on change and the delivery of demanding priorities

Description: My Dublin City Centre based client has a very exciting role available for an ETL & BI Consultant to join our expanding BI Team. The role is Dublin based, with a high proportion of time spent on customer sites. Most of our clients are Irish based.
This position will require working with business analysts, project sponsors and IT Managers to identify requirements, gain an understanding of different source systems and deliver on all requirements. There are two main points of focus in this position:
Business Intelligence and Performance Management:
We deliver BI solutions for our clients, primarily using Cognos BI. We develop OLAP cubes, scorecard/dashboard reports on top of data marts/warehouses that we have delivered. This content is generated in IBM Cognos BI and TM1 (formerly Applix). Experience in developing BI content is the main requirement.
ETL:
The primary ETL toolsets we use are Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS or Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8 SSIS offerings. Experience of these toolsets would provide a key advantage.
The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated with an ability to work off his/her own initiative and be a competent problem-solver. Good oral and written communication skills are essential in this client-facing role. The position requires a flexible approach and good learning capabilities to get up to speed quickly on new products and challenges.
The profile we are looking for is someone with two to five years experience using Cognos, Qlikview or Microsoft BI. Candidates with similar experience with other BI tools will also be considered as we will provide training to assist in skilling up as is required.

You will be responsible for the development and management of all technical aspects of Management Information Systems, and the development and improvement of Management information delivered to the business from IT systems.
Key Business Objectives
• Acquire ownership of the current Data Warehouse, toolset (full Microsoft BI stack and SQL server 2008), Reporting and data load routines for support and management.
• Development of this beyond the current implementations into a company wide BI platform, both for reporting and managing information. (KPI's, dashboard)
• Develop the architecture and scalability for the future growth of use and Business expansion, along with extending the data content and rollout.
• Involved in the development of existing supplier relations that have developed and support the current system and are piloting and trialling front-end BI use and Microsoft technical services.
• Management of supplier's deliverance on their tasks in agreed projects.
• Provide support to the Business Systems Teams to deliver new solutions and information to their end-user Business Departments.
• Involvement in the overhaul of reports and delivery of management information across the business alongside the Finance team.
• Working with IT Technical team to ensure the rollout of new solutions and the architectural fit to other technical strategies.
• Evaluation and replacement of remaining old legacy reporting systems with extensions to the Data Warehouse or other appropriate solutions
• Project management of infrastructural changes to ensure the resilience, performance and scalability of the architecture.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Minimum 2 years working with Microsoft BI stack and broad technical knowledge of the components involving some architecture or design work.
• Previous IT project experience delivering systems in a multi-functional business which has a distributed user base and high volumes of data.
• Technical knowledge of IT infrastructures as they relate to BI/MIS platforms, from data storage/SANs to 'cube' production and databases.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to discuss, present and interact with a wide range of Business users at various levels.
• Demonstrable planning and organisational ability and experience from a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel projects and activities.
Educational Background
• Level of formal MS training or certification.
• 3rd Level education, degree or equivalent.
• Job training or qualification relating to BI.
