The individual will support the front and back end operations and control functions and offer executive level guidance on data and information lifecycle management
Responsibilities of the Head of Data:
Data Management & Governance
Significant experience of operating at senior strategic management level in transformational change roles.
Experience with organisational delivery of data as a service and optimising the effectiveness and efficiency of resources.
Experience in development of data analytics and customer insights
Proven track record in the implementation of change initiatives
Demonstrate ability to solve complex data integration and data provisioning challenges with specific expertise in data design
Ability to assess competing priority problems, articulate and engage on solutions whilst managing expectations on delivery
Solid understanding of industry standards like DAMA and TOGAF
Understand the data challenge for legacy financial institutions and show the potential value in a holistic data approach
Relevant professional qualification e.g. BSc or MBA in a technology related discipline
Understanding of the principles governing best practice in Data Architecture, Management & Governance, Data Quality and Data Usage.
Very strong analytical ability and a fact based approach to decision making.
Sound commercial acumen in vendor engagement and strategic planning skills.
Experience in building, leading and managing high performing teams and collaborating both within and outside the company.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate.
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Define data governance including operating models
Lead technology selection, evaluation, recommendation and configurations
Lead the data architecture , which may include applications, infrastructure and/or database strategies
Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
Build and maintain effective relationships with client data architects and technical leads
Provide proactive technical oversight and advise to DBA and development teams fostering re-use, scalability, stability, and operational efficiency of data/analytical solutions
Minimum of 6+ years' experiences in database, data warehouse, transaction processing and business intelligence infrastructure technology solutions
4+ years' experience in architecting and designing databases and data warehouses
Demonstrable expert level-knowledge of architecting, planning, testing and deploying Microsoft, Oracle, IBM or Hadoop-type database solutions
