Description: 1-2 year Fixed Term Contract Role for a Senior Reporting analyst with a Large Financial Services Company based in Dublin City Centre.

The successful candidate will assist in the development, maintenance and distribution of information & reports to a large and diverse audience across the Group. Using the latest Business Intelligence and Database technologies and applications, the role requires a strong focus on providing timely and accurate reporting to a demanding customer base.

Key Responsibilities:
• Produce a timely, accurate and comprehensive MI reporting suite, and supplementary analysis to provide insights on key metrics and respond to subsequent actions for further investigation.
• Respond to regular and ad hoc requests for reports and data from stakeholders and Regulatory bodies.
• Develop new reports in an efficient and flexible production environment.
• Resolve business issues using data analysis and present back meaningful and actionable information to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to new MI projects as they arise.

Essential Requirements:
• Background with a significant numerical or quantitative element with experience in relational databases, with an advanced proficiency SQL.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Access & MS Excel with a very good understanding of VB/VBA.
• Experience working with large datasets from multiple sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Very strong Business/Systems Analyst skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team. Ability to deliver and achieve results within demanding timescales.

Desirable Requirements:
• The ability to translate business issues into the appropriate analysis and then communicate the results of that analysis back to the business.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines across the business and credit management functions.
• Credit, finance or risk reporting experience.
• Experience working with reporting tools would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and tools.

The Job:
The primary purpose of the role is to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet the clients reporting requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. This will include the development and maintenance of a Logical Data Model which will be built to house the data estate. The successful candidates will work with business users and DBA’s to expand the warehouse to meet the business requirements.

Reporting to the IT Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will:
• Interpret accurately and contribute to the requirements as presented by the business
• Adhere to IT Project Methodology and standards
• Work with a team to ensure quality assurance
• Take ownership and responsibility for the tasks assigned to them
• Set and adhere to challenging deadlines
• Be familiar with all aspects of a development lifecycle

The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
• Proven experience in a Teradata data warehouse environment
• A comprehensive understanding of both dimensional and normalised data modelling techniques
• An ability to interpret detailed business requirements for BI systems and design logical and physical data models to support these requirements.
• Experience designing data models for an enterprise data warehouse system or a departmental data mart or both – ideally in the financial services industry.

The Job of Business Analyst:
This individual will work in a new project to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet the companies reporting requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. They will be responsible for the establishment of process and procedures for provisioning new data into this environment, the maintenance of control tables and quality assurance of the data being loaded into the environment. In addition they will work when required with the business to drive out their requirements from conception to delivery.
Reporting to the IT Solutions Manager the successful candidate/ BA will:
• Interpret accurately and contribute to the requirements as presented by the business
• Analyse existing and “to be” system functionality
• Adhere to IT Project Methodology and standards
• Project lead developments from requirements to implementation
• Co-ordinate various group project activities
• Assist in the production of business cases
• Work with a team to ensure quality assurance
• Take ownership and responsibility for the tasks assigned to them
• Set and adhere to challenging deadlines
• Be familiar with all aspects of a development lifecycle

The Person:
The ideal candidate will ideally have experience in Business / Systems Analysis and project management with experience of working on data warehouse implementation. They will also possess the following skills and knowledge:
• An ability to learn and understand complex business processes
• A positive and favourable approach to change
• An ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines on their own initiative in a demanding environment
• An ability to demonstrate an organised and systematic approach to work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• An ability to work with others building and maintaining strong professional relationships
• Understanding of emerging technologies and systems including mainframe, PC, Web, Mobile applications, databases & environments
• Strong PC skills with a knowledge of MS Office products

• A formal business analysis qualification (e.g. PRINCE, ISEB Business analysis) whilst not mandatory, would be a distinct advantage.

This role requires significant interaction with stakeholders and management to define and implement a Data Warehouse environment that encompasses all stages of the Data Warehouse, including strategic decision support, advanced analytics, tactical decision support, and active, event driven decision support strategies. This includes corresponding logical and physical data models, as well as high availability and disaster recovery strategies. The successful candidate should be passionate about data warehousing, have experience through all aspects of the Standard Development Life Cycle and can exploit existing and emerging technologies in the design and implementation of the Data Warehouse and business intelligence reporting environment.
We are seeking a candidate who thinks strategically and acts tactically by laying out the technology vision and supporting day to day initiatives through thought leadership.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Design, development and test guidance for the Operational Data Store, Data Ware House model design, ETL/ELT architecture & design, BI solutions, and DW infrastructure
• Interface with business stakeholders/business analysts to gather DW requirements and translate business requirements into data needs
• Be hands-on individual contributor to design and develop data models, design and develop ETL/ELT as necessary
• Design and develop real-world use case scenarios for the warehouse that can be translated into test requirements.
Key Skills & Attributes:
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead remote resources
• Superb oral/written communication skills
• 7 Year experience in Data Warehouse ETL/ELT Development
• 5 Years experience in Data Modeling for Data Warehouse
• 3 years experience as Data Warehouse technical development role
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Advanced knowledge of SQL including complex stored procedures, functions, query optimization, indexing strategy
• Experience with overall DW infrastructure capacity planning and scaling
• Proven track record in delivering scalable and reliable DW solutions.
• Strong data modeling and dimensional modeling skills (including slowly changing dimensions
• Experience with data quality and data profiling
ELT design and development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experienced in designing, building and maintaining 10+ TB DW systems a plus
• Experience with Java
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions is a plus
• Experience with BI tools is a plus
