Description: Systems Analyst / IT Business Analyst
Overview:
To enhance the skill-set and support the work of the IT department in various projects and day-to-day operations of the department. Any background in the Health sector or with Patient Administration systems would be nice to have but its not that important.
Job Description:
The Systems Analyst will work closely with IT management, software providers and users to ensure the IT business and operational needs of the client are identified and solutions delivered.
The Systems Analyst will be required to:
Analyse and capture business requirements of the organisation
• Gain knowledge and expertise of relevant applications
• Conduct interviews and workshops and lead requirement gathering sessions
• Engineer/Re-engineer processes to enhance business functionality and efficiency.
• Analyze information processing or computation needs and plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modelling and information engineering.
• Develop, document and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
Participate in nominated projects
• Varied in size and complexity
• Take lead or participating role
• Provide users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
Work effectively with all stakeholders
• Provide input into the overall test approach and document test data for system testing. Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.
• Develop and provide structured training material for end users and be capable of delivering group and/or one on one training modules.
• Contribute to the on-going development and enhancement of the IT Systems.
• Agree and specify user change requests and reporting requirements
• Be involved in IT operations where/when needed
Experience:
Technical Skills will include:
Systems/Business analysis
Excellent computer skills
BI tools (preferably Business Objects)
Database knowledge – SQL preferred
Excellent business-facing and communication skills.
Experience supporting end users.
Experience with a variety of application systems
Additionally, you will have excellent knowledge of MS Office with advanced skills in MS Excel, Project & Visio.
Academic Qualification:
A third level qualification in an IT related discipline is required.

Key Responsibilities:
• As part of their validation activities, ensure active and positive communication exists with the relevant stakeholders involved in the model validation process.
• Data management using SAS and Excel. This includes reading Excel files into SAS, data manipulation, deriving new variables and creating SAS datasets.
• Undertake statistical analysis through SAS. This includes discrimination, calibration, population stability, & sensitivity measures; interpret and report on the results of this analysis
• Produce detailed documentation for all model validations to a standard appropriate for reporting to internal and external stakeholders (including the Financial Regulator, as required)
Essential Key Requirements:
• The successful candidate is likely to have a quantitative discipline such as statistics, econometrics or mathematics and/or may have experience in quantitative analysis.
• Good report writing skills.
• High levels of commercial awareness – to recognise the balance between measurement excellence and business needs.
• Excellent team player with enthusiasm and energy, able to deliver under tight deadlines.
• Advanced user of Excel.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis packages such as SAS (e.g. Base, E-Miner) is desirable but training can be provided, if required.
• Familiarity with the broad principles of Basel II/CRD.

• Assume supervisory responsibility for components of engagements
•Contribute to engagement planning and ensure that deliverables meet workplan objectives and quality standards
•Recognise and communicate opportunities to sell "add-on" work
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• BS/BA in Economics, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related area
• 3-5 years data mining and analytics experience in the Retail, Insurance, Telecommunications or financial services industries
•Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of data analytics services in a professional services or large corporate environment
•Experience with MS Access and ACL, and programming languages such as VB and/or SQL to develop ad-hoc tools and queries/reports
•Demonstrated ability with assisting businesses with deriving value from existing data
•Optional - Experience with web based technologies to enable data presentation and capture
• Optional - SQL Server experience
