My Dublin City Centre based client is actively recruiting for a Data Analyst Consultant (Statistics/ Data Mining)to join their team.

Job Description:
Examples of job responsibilities include:
•Responsible for manipulating large data files, then transforming the data into business information that helps clients fulfil strategic objectives.
• Search for meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships by sifting through large amounts of data and explain the findings to people with varying backgrounds.
•Documenting code logic and procedures performed.
•Preparing executive level presentation to facilitate discussion of analysis.
•Develop solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues
•Develop and code business rules to support risk based analysis and/or risk based modelling
•Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel
• Understand engagement as it relates to client's business
• Assume supervisory responsibility for components of engagements
•Contribute to engagement planning and ensure that deliverables meet workplan objectives and quality standards
•Recognise and communicate opportunities to sell "add-on" work
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
• BS/BA in Economics, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related area
• 3-5 years data mining and analytics experience in the Retail, Insurance, Telecommunications or financial services industries
•Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of data analytics services in a professional services or large corporate environment
•Experience with MS Access and ACL, and programming languages such as VB and/or SQL to develop ad-hoc tools and queries/reports
•Demonstrated ability with assisting businesses with deriving value from existing data
•Optional - Experience with web based technologies to enable data presentation and capture
• Optional - SQL Server experience

Have a proven record in architecting and leading complete BI solutions
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrate a clear and critical thought processes
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as being a team player
Have the Ability to deliver to agreed deadlines and work under pressure
Take the main role in the design, construction and delivery of a BI solution.
Has 5+ years experience in architecting BI solutions.
Have worked in the banking and/or financial sectors for a number of years
Have a proven track record of on time delivery
Have a good understanding of the project life cycle / process

Technical Skills:

Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000/2005
Expert knowledge of Microsoft SSIS, SSAS (2005 )
Expert knowledge of warehouse design and Inmon and Kimball principals
Excellent knowledge of COGNOS Data and Framework manager tools
5+ years delivering Microsoft SSAS and COGNOS (version 8 and above) solutions

Advantageous skills but not essential
Microsoft .NET
Knowledge of SAS

The successful candidate will have full responsibility for management of master data, with particular focus on reference data as used by core systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities to include:
• Development of data architecture model, outlining core data elements used and managed by the centre
• Liaison with technical teams / data warehousing to facilitate and ensure robust data management architecture in support of business applications
• Ongoing maintenance of existing reference data set, including issue identification, management and resolution
• Implementation and management of referential data Change Control Process incorporating:
o Requirements gathering
o Impact analysis
o Solution design
o Stakeholder management
o Governance process
o Identification of data gaps / opportunities to supplement existing data sources to enhance analytics and drive business value

Key skills:
o Deep experience in management of data sources
o Good technical understanding of data management structures, tools and architectures
o Strong business analysis skills
o Solid project management skills
o Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with ability to facilitate discussions and drive consensus
