Description: IS Information Architect

My clients business is information intensive in nature, driven by internal, external and regulatory demands for data. The successful applicant will act in an advisory role to IS (Information Systems) management and be a key influencer across the company, ensuring alignment to data architecture strategy, principles and standards.

This is an opportunity for someone to operate at a strategic level to shape and influence data strategy and make a real impact as part of a centralised architecture function.

Key Responsibilities of Information Architect:

Lead efforts to establish, define, maintain and communicate data architecture guidelines, principles, standards and best practices across the enterprise.
Establish and maintain models and artefacts that describe how data is processed, stored, and utilized in the company.
Analyse the current integration environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Analyse technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
Maintain a strong knowledge of multi-methodology and best practice in the areas of data modeling, data architecture, data quality and cleansing, and data integration processes.
Create architecture models that reflect our IT strategy and business priorities.
Support the Application Portfolio Management process:
Influencing portfolio planning to ensure cohesion and alignment with business and IS roadmaps.
Assist in reducing the complexity and total cost of ownership of the portfolio by providing architectural expertise in the assessment and selection of new or enhanced IS services.
Participate in the Architecture and Strategy steering group as appropriate, to ensure that solution designs complies with the overall architecture and strategy.
Assist in the delivery of objective and impartial technology and application assessments, ensuring informed decision making.
Deliver presentations and report IS Management.
Communicating effectively to stakeholders via meetings, presentations and reports.
Advocate best practices and principles.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering technology management or other relevant degree.
5-10 years’ professional experience in information/data architecture.
Expert communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills – able to translate complex concepts into information that senior management and staff can understand.
Extensive experience in defining and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models, data standards, naming conventions and data flow diagrams.
Excellent knowledge in data quality and management, integration processes, databases and analytics.
Experiences in database, data warehouse, transaction processing and business intelligence infrastructure technology solutions.
A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of technical / professional decisions on the performance of the organisation.
Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering desired results.

Master’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering technology management or other relevant degree.
Knowledge of Big Data, NoSQL and Hadoop.
Industry certification in data/database architecture.
ITIL Certification.

Description: Data Modeller required for top Company based in Cork.

The role of the Enterprise Data Warehouse Data Modeller is to work in the EDW project to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet reporting requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. The EDW Data Modeller will be responsible for the development and maintenance of a Logical Data Model which will be built to house the data estate. The EDW Data Modeller will have strong communication skills and will work with business users and DBA’s to expand the warehouse to meet the business requirements.

Requirements of the Role:
• Interpret accurately and contribute to the requirements as presented by the business
• Adhere to IT Project Methodology and standards
• Work with a team to ensure quality assurance
• Take ownership and responsibility for the tasks assigned to them
• Set and adhere to challenging deadlines
• Be familiar with all aspects of a development lifecycle

Technical Experience Required:
• Experience in a financial services organisation
• Experience in a Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence environment. Alternatively, hands-on design and implementation of business solutions that include data design/modelling.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques.
• Exposure to data design tools, ETL technologies or reporting/BI technologies
• An ability to learn and understand complex business process.
• A desire to learn.
• The capability to work on your own initiative in a demanding environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good PC skills with knowledge of MS Office products.
• A desire to develop your IT competency through training and education

This is a Permanent role based in Cork. Attractive salary plus benefits on offer for the right candidate.
