Description: My client is looking to hire an experience DataStage Engineer for a permanent role in Dublin Salary is coming in at circa 60k for the right role.


Responsibilities of this role include:


•Maintain the DataStage server processes.

•Create new projects and associated data directories on the DataStage Server Node.

•Manage space allocation and usage within the DataStage file systems.

•Install DataStage executables on the DataStage server node.

•Tune the DataStage server processes.

•Ensure that the DataStage server is backed up appropriately, and that recovery of DataStage server data is possible.
•Provide support including off-hour support on DataStage issues on the production environments.


Required skills and attributes:


•Candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 year’s knowledge of DataStage Software Architecture and tools

•Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required

•Mastery of DataStage Enterprise Edition (PX) version 7x or higher.

•A background in related operating systems and technology including UNIX AIX, Linux

The purpose of the role is to support, maintain, enhance and implement Business Intelligence applications for the Group businesses.
Key Skills:
Significant Business knowledge and direct experience of applications development and implementation in a commercial business environment.
Significant knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data mining principles.
Strong knowledge of the Datastage technology suite / product.
Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence/ Datawarehouse technology.
Strong software development experience and knowledge of SDLC an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising in the analysis of business requirements and the selection of technical solutions for small application developments. Implement these developments and carry out enhancements on software applications to solve business problems and enhance functional performance.
Developing application specifications in conjunction with internal customers and Business Analysts, to solve business problems and enhance functional performance.
Specifying changes to resolve recurring problems within software applications. Carry out data corrections and corrections of application faults, to produce failure free data and applications without problems.
Developing applications (small developments) based on the technical design within the time frame that is determined in co-operation with the internal customers.
