Description: My Dublin City Centre based client has a very exciting role available for an ETL & BI Consultant to join our expanding BI Team. The role is Dublin based, with a high proportion of time spent on customer sites. Most of our clients are Irish based.

This position will require working with business analysts, project sponsors and IT Managers to identify requirements, gain an understanding of different source systems and deliver on all requirements. There are two main points of focus in this position:

Business Intelligence and Performance Management:
We deliver BI solutions for our clients, primarily using Cognos BI. We develop OLAP cubes, scorecard/dashboard reports on top of data marts/warehouses that we have delivered. This content is generated in IBM Cognos BI and TM1 (formerly Applix). Experience in developing BI content is the main requirement.

ETL:
The primary ETL toolsets we use are Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS or Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8 SSIS offerings. Experience of these toolsets would provide a key advantage.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated with an ability to work off his/her own initiative and be a competent problem-solver. Good oral and written communication skills are essential in this client-facing role. The position requires a flexible approach and good learning capabilities to get up to speed quickly on new products and challenges.

The profile we are looking for is someone with two to five years experience using Cognos, Qlikview or Microsoft BI. Candidates with similar experience with other BI tools will also be considered as we will provide training to assist in skilling up as is required.

Description: Business Intelligence Team Lead required for Top Financial Services Company based in Dublin.
Key tasks & responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of the technical elements of the BI projects they are responsible for.

Manage the design and build of complete BI solutions to agreed standards.

Provide a strategic input in defining and reviewing the BI coding standards. This should include specific reference to industry standards and technologies (Inmon, Kimball and COGNOS)

· Ensure all relevant documentation is available and implement a regime of review to ensure compliance.

· Define and set up a team to support the BI production systems

· Investigation of new BI technology and provide recommendations on how to incorporate this into the BI strategy.

· Contribute towards the overall BI strategy.

· Implement a process to manage BI issues and escalation

· Provide development estimates for proposed BI projects

· Work closely with the project managers and assume responsibility for the BI technical deliverables of a project.

· Provide team management, mentoring and leadership.

· Have a proven record in architecting and leading complete BI solutions

· Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills

· Have the Ability to deliver to agreed deadlines and work under pressure

· Take the main role in the design, construction and delivery of a BI solution.

· Has a number of years experience in managing teams

· Has 5+ years experience in architecting BI solutions.

· Have worked in the banking and/or financial sectors for a number of years

· Have a proven track record of on time delivery

· Have a good understanding of the project life cycle / process



Technical Skills:

· Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000/2005

· Expert knowledge of Microsoft SSIS, SSAS (2005 )

· Expert knowledge of warehouse design and Inmon and Kimball principals

· Excellent knowledge of COGNOS Data and Framework manager tools

· 5+ years delivering Microsoft SSAS and COGNOS (version 8 and above) solutions
