Description: My client is currently looking for a Data Analyst to join the existing team and help with their current project. The successful candidate must have developed strong database skills.

About the Job:

This challenging but rewarding position encompasses a variety of duties including:

• Pre-processing and reviewing (in Microsoft Access) the supplied data
and documenting identified issues;
• Providing assistance and advice to the clients involved in the Study in relation to the preparation of their financial and patient level data, both on-site and remotely;
• Reviewing and analysing the integrity of the results and providing feedback.
• Maintaining and developing output reports using Microsoft Access (or SQL) to enable my client to review and analyse their results.
• Processing and reconciling the finalised data in PowerPerformance Management (PPM);
• Helping to formulate policies and procedures in relation to the conduction of the 2013 Study
• Actively participating in Team meetings to review the progress of the Study.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have developed skills in the use of Microsoft Access or SQL and Microsoft Excel;
• Have a good understanding of management accounting concepts, particularly costing principles;
• Have completed, or be completing, qualifications in Business or IT with a strong academic record;
• Be self-directed and be able to learn new skills and ideas quickly;
• Be an effective communicator, team player and be responsive to client needs; and
• Have exceptional time management and organisational skills.

The purpose of this role is to understand the customer better by analysing trends and identifying sales opportunities through the loyalty customer database.



Responsibilities:

Feed into the CRM strategy as a key part of the overall business and Marketing strategy

Develop a greater understanding of the loyalty customer database through in depth analysis of behaviour and segmentation of customers

Develop, implement and evaluate promotional campaigns

Develop new ways to engage loyalty customers and affect behaviour to meet objectives

Run and support promotional campaigns in partnership with suppliers and trading

Inform the business on customer insights and trends

Issue weekly reports on loyalty KPI’s

Deliver Insights and recommendations to drive the business forward

Present on Wrap-up reports

Work with the Commercial finance team on adhoc queries.



Qualifications:

Strong analytical skills coupled with commercial business awareness (would suit a person with a background in economics, finance, mathematics or statistics

Fluent in Excel spreadsheet analysis, including macros, VBA and statistical modelling

Advanced SQL skills (creating, maintaining SQL tables and views; MSSQL).

Knowledge of Statistical systems (such as R, S-Plus, SAS, SPSS).

Strong minded individual, comfortable dealing with senior management

Have proven record of working on own initiative

Able to work under extreme time pressure

Strong Communication & Presentation skills Retail, CRM or FMCG background would be a distinct advantage



Salary for this role will be €50-€55k

Overview:
My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for an Operations Analyst. This is a permanent role with an excellent Financial Services client.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
• Daily reconciliation of securities and cash movements arising from the firms brokerage activities and related downstream processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and mitigating operational risk.
• Daily reconciliation of the firms cash balances, securities holdings and pending cash and stock movements.
• Daily monitoring and management of corporate actions (eg. Dividends, bonus issues etc) linked to equities being traded by the firm.
• Daily monitoring of the firms post trade settlement and clearing processes.
• Management and monitoring of the group’s cash balances. Minimise group overdraft interest charges and maximise returns on deposits by way of daily transfers between the firms international cash accounts. Daily and monthly reporting to senior management on the firms cash holdings.
• Manage foreign exchange transactions and investigate any differences on a timely basis, including booking foreign exchange deals to the general ledger and instruct cash transfers to ensure timely settlement.
• Manage intra-day cash transfers and provide daily cash reports to senior management.
• Reconciliation, reporting and payment of relevant stamp duty taxes and financial transaction taxes
• Reconciliation of trading activity on internal book and also with external counterparties

Experience/Qualifications:
• Investigative approach and numerative ability essential
• 2.2 or higher in a business-focused degree essential
• Financial services experience preferred
• Inexperienced candidates should have a strong financial services focus in their development to date
• For experienced candidates, reconciliations or corporate actions experience desirable.
• Inexperienced candidates should have a strong financial services
• Good PC skills required
• Excellent Excel skills desirable (e.g. manipulating high volumes of data and running pivot tables).
• Quality mindset – with commitment to continuous improvement and delivering right solutions first time
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

This role involves taking charge of a broad variety of Data Services engagements from planning to completion. Data Services encompasses CAATs and a variety of spreadsheet and database assignments from design & build to review.

Responsibilities include:
• Identify audit efficiencies possible through the use of automated testing;
• Designing appropriate procedures and audit programmes in line with audit approach;
• Liaising onsite with clients to obtain relevant data to perform the required testing for the audit team;
• Researching and resolving technical queries from clients or audit team;
• Taking responsibility for delivering work in line with engagement objectives and budget;
• Review the work of junior team members to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames;
• Work as an effective team member during an engagement by communicating relevant issues, requesting feedback and coaching junior team members.
• Preparing reports detailing the results of testing performed to be provided to the audit team for use during the engagement;
• Reporting on audit findings to the Managers/Senior Managers and Partners and in particular raise any issues arising during field work;
• Design, build and review financial projections;
• Design, build and review automated spreadsheet/database applications;

Experience Required:
3-4 years data mining/manipulation experience ideally in a Big 4 firm or large bank/insurance mulit-national other.

Experienced in the use of Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAAT’s);

Strong technical knowledge and some combination of accounting, finance, analytical, controls, business process, and information technology knowledge

Skills
Highly Proficient in ACL, Microsoft Access, SQL server or other such tool;
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel;
Exposure to XML or XBRL an advantage
