Description: My Dublin based client is currently looking for an experienced IP Network Engineer to join their expanding team in a permanent role.

This role will support the migration of applications and IT services within and between Our client’s data centres, and the replacement/upgrade of core IP network elements, as well as replacement/upgrade of inter-data centre DWDM links.
The role will also support business-as-usual routing, switching, firewall, and load-balancing operations.
The role will report to the Technical Lead of the data centre Migration Project, located within Our client’s IT Project Delivery Organisation. In a transition context, the role may alternatively report to the IP Networks Team Leader, located within IT Service Delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities.
1. Installation and configuration of Cisco Nexus 9K data centre switches
2. Installation and configuration of Cisco catalyst 65XX and 29XX switches
3. Installation and configuration of Cisco 45XX, 39XX & 29XX routers
4. Management of VOIP features on Cisco 3925 routers
5. Management of VOIP software products including CUCM
6. Installation and management of Checkpoint IP690 & IP290’s
7. Installation and management of wireless controllers, AP’s & policies
8. Troubleshooting of performance issues
9. Assist in auditing and necessary reporting, as required.
10. Respond to and fix calls escalated within OLA / SLA.
11. Creation and maintenance of documentation.
12. Assisting in the migration of applications/services within/between data centres.
13. Support the planning and execution of infrastructure migrations
14. Support the planning and execution of physical IP equipment moves
15. Troubleshoot IP equipment migration issues


Skills Required.
Technical skills (Essential).
• Excellent Knowledge of Cisco routing & switching
• Excellent Knowledge of Checkpoint firewall administration
• Thorough understanding of wireless (Wi-Fi) technologies and standards
• Experience of high-availability and disaster recovery IT configurations
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure Hardware and Software Technologies
• Excellent knowledge of Infrastructure Hardware and Software best practices
• Solid experience of Windows/Linux/UNIX networking & routing
• Solid experience of troubleshooting in a Cisco/Checkpoint environment

Technical skills (Desirable).
• Knowledge of SteelApp Traffic Virtual Appliance
• Knowledge of Orion monitoring
• Knowledge of VMware NSX & ESXi
• Infrastructure Solutions Architecture.

Essential Soft skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be a proven team player.
• Knowledge of current IT technologies and service management processes.
• Have demonstrated ability to drive technical issues through to completion.
• Work to a high standard of quality and thoroughness.
• Have strong organisational and time management skills.
• Work well under pressure.

Qualifications
• Recognised third level computing qualification.
• CCNP, CCSE, or other relevant IT Industry accreditations.

Position will leverage excellent working knowledge of firewalls, will be extremely comfortable validating, stress-testing, and working with next-gen firewall and packet inspection technology.
Architecture, deployment, and support of enterprise network security and engineering systems including IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and 2FA security procedures.
Led or have been heavily engaged in projects developing large-scale network monitoring, automation, and tools deployment.
Advocate and execute proper change management principles to ensure network availability and reliability for over 35,000-40,000 active users worldwide user.
Leverage, interpret, and rely on packet and flow analysis tools to drive troubleshooting, visibility, and root cause analysis of anomalies.
Lead efforts in DDoS management and mitigation
Effectively communicate to senior org management, and mentor other engineers and teams.
Detailed management of numerous Firewalls and analysis of firewall performance reports.
Leverage of good knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, Unix/Linux/FreeBSD
Leverage deep experience with a variety of enterprise Networking, Network Security, and datacenter traffic management devices
Using familiarity with workflow ticketing systems (such as Remedy) is a plus
Meeting needs for infrequent travel may be necessary
Utilizing networking or Network Security certifications not required, but could be a plus
Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree
Remuneration Package: €75-95k plus a full benefits package.

Full-time Permanent Position
Location: Dublin – City Centre

Responsibilities – You will work as part of a helpdesk team and after a period of initial training your responsibilities will include:

• Logging first line requests and incidents – received via phone, email and in-person - into the Service Management system.
• Ensure that the highest standards of Customer Focus are demonstrated at all times.
• Ensuring that all clients – both internal and external are dealt with in a friendly, efficient and timely manner.
• Responsible for frontline Incident & Problem management – ensuring that all incidents are resolved in a timely manner or escalated to appropriate engineer level support.
• Responsible for contributing to project-based activity – time-permitting.
• Ensure that established procedures and controls are adhered to at all times. Also responsible for highlighting if / when procedures or controls have changed so that documentation can be updated. In short – be well organised.
• Full understanding of the Service Level Agreements (SLA) in place with our customers. Also, to ensure that these SLA’s are adhered to as far as is possible and that all exceptions are escalated to Service Desk Management.

Personal Traits

• Demonstrate high levels of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, ensuring that all interactions with customers, co-workers and management are done in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to record, resolve and/or escalate Service Related queries – both within the customers and also directly with Vendors - and ensure that all customer related issues/queries are managed to resolution within agreed customer SLA timeframes.


Must have 1-2 years prior Network Support and helpdesk experience, with 1 years experience in On-Site Server Installations and Trouble-Shooting of Networking Issues

Must have experience of Installation & Support of Windows Client OS 7 and above, Windows Server 2008R2 and above, Active Directory, Core networking, firewall basics, basic Exchange Server 2007 or later management.
Education & Qualifications:
3rd Level Diploma/Degree a benefit.
MCP, MCSA or MSCE in Microsoft technologies or equivalent.
Any other relevant qualifications.

Responsibilities:
• Provide support and facilitate answers to any queries with respect to the infrastructure.
• Provide the necessary support for setup of the infrastructure configuration needed for client testing and production environments.
• Interact with Implementation personnel, partner systems and client infrastructure teams to facilitate any new infrastructure / connectivity needs
• Provide Level 3 infrastructure support
• Coordinate periodic application COB (Disaster Recovery) tests.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate the resolution of failures within the messaging / file transfer systems.
Qualifications:

• Solid working knowledge of communications and networks, IP protocol, firewalls, routers
• Understanding of MQ Operations, including setup and function of Queues, Queue Managers, Channels, Message Flow between multiple platforms
• Understanding of Public Key Encryption including different types of encoding and methods
• Understanding of FTP commands and scripts, including secure transmission methods between source and destination points.
• Understanding of NAS File Structure, account control and permissions between multiple platforms
• Understanding of NDM setup and connectivity, including message flow
• Understanding of Unix and Windows file structure and permission rules, along with account types
• Very good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to make decisions and operate independently when needed as well as work within the larger global team.
• Able to build and maintain relationships with partner applications and various stakeholders.

Desired:

• Proficiency in a high-level programming language, such as Java
• Able to write shell scripts
• Relational database experience, running SQL queries
• Experience with data transformation tools, such as Ab Initio or Informatica.
• Experience with scheduling products, such as Autosys
• Experience working in a financial institution
• Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
