Description: The Role
We are looking for a talented Node Backend Application Developer to build industry top-class backend systems. You have a deep knowledge of node, object oriented design and development and understand how to build robust, high-throughput and distributed backend systems. You are comfortable creating and organizing backend libraries that capture complex business logic, know how to both write and consume web services of various flavours and have a good understanding of front end design and development.

The successful candidate will have a key role in the development of our backend systems for our new innovative products.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Node & Software engineering experience
• Experience developing production Node.js applications
• Computer Science related degree and equivalent 3+ years software engineering experience
• Familiarity with common Node.js modules, including Express
• Familiarity with RESTful services
• Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) e.g. Mocha or Jasmine
• Familiarity with Grunt or Gulp
• Experience with SQL databases
• Understanding of non-relational databases such as MongoDB or CouchDB
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design fundamentals
• Experience working with GIT or SVN

Desirable Skills/Experience:
• HTML and responsive design JavaScript & CSS experience including libraries such as AngularJS, jQuery
• Familiarity with deployment, monitoring and debugging of Node applications in Heroku & AWS
• Experience with Cloud technologies, e.g. Amazon AWS, EC2, S3
• Solid knowledge of TCP, UDP, TLS protocols
• Experience with messaging frameworks such as RabbitMQ
• C# .Net development experiences e.g. WSDL
• Understanding of social network basics is a plus

The remuneration package will be commensurate with the requirements and expectations of the role and depending on relevant experience.

The role requires someone who thinks strategically about the importance of user experience but can also work well individually and in a small team environment.
Working closely with Business Analysts, Product Management, R&D agile teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure UI and UX is a key part of the product roadmap deliverables.
The UI / UX Developer will own and drive UI and UX best practice in the product roadmap deliverables.
The UI/UX developer needs to be hands on using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Main Responsibilities:
• Prototyping new versions of the product
• Help create and maintain UX/UI strategy
• Develop production-quality frontend code
• Strong knowledge and experience in responsive design
• Experience in Front-end web design with a focus on user experience and usability
• Developing documentation and style guides for developers
• Work with UI designers to create concepts to test ideas
• Must ensure that UX/UI continues to be fully embedded in the agile development process
• Work with BA’s and internal teams to ensure that features are being developed and supported with wireframes and other visuals.
• Guide, mentor and coach business analysts & developers to improve usability methods.
• Keeping up-to-date with legal requirements, standards, guidelines and professional good practice relating to UI design, accessibility, usability testing and usability research

Experience:
• Must be highly proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
• 5yrs+ experience as a UI/UX developer with a web-based application
• Expert Prototyping, Wireframe and Mock-up experience
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills

• Proven history of progressing product designs from initial concept, through architecture, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to finished product.
• A comprehensive online portfolio that illustrates design processes and execution of concepts across platforms.

•Experience working in a software product development environment is strongly preferred

Java Software Engineer
Opportunity
Our client is currently looking for a software engineer to join our Group Technology team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for software design, implementation and unit test across our product suite.
Responsibilities
• Analysis, design, implementation, test and support of java products and services
• Delivery of user stories within product sprints
• Technical troubleshooting and problem solving
• Working with regional operations engineers to support our global customer base
Experience and Skills Required
• 3rd level qualification in a numerate discipline, ideally computer related
• Proven industry experience in Java
• Experience of Spring MVC, Security & Hibernate
• Technical competency within a Linux environment
• Strong Database Skills (SQL, PL/SQL). PostgreSQL, MySQL
• Experience of working in an Agile environment (Scrum)
• HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP an advantage
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Selenium, JBehave
• A self-starter, with the ability to learn and understand complex systems without difficulty
