IMS (Fast Path)

The support provided includes:
Production database access monitoring and tuning
Problem investigation
Production implementation
Database research and development
Database design and modelling
Application access techniques
Skills transfer e.g. SQL writing
Role :
An opportunity exists for the role of an IMS DBA.
As a member of DBA team based in Dublin, the individual will be required to carry out the following role:
•Provide IMS Fast Path DBA technical support in the test and production environments.
•Capacity management of IMS Fast Path DEDBs.
•Engage with technical support teams and development teams in performance and problem resolution
•Support an upgrade of IMS
•Skills transfer to other members of the DBA team.
Skills Required :
•Extensive knowledge of IMS Fast Path DEDBs
•Experience in the use of IMS IBM High Performance Fastpath Utilities
•Knowledge of IBM Mainframe environment
•JCL skills
•Change management skills
Attributes :
•Good interpersonal skills with initiative and drive.
•Ability to work well as part of a team.
•At least 3 to 5 years DBA experience
•Good interpersonal skills with initiative and drive.

Roles and Responsibilities
Work with Support Team supporting Ellipse Enterprise System.
•Analyse problems and code solutions using Cobol and Delphi.
•Work with Oracle Databases.
•Conform to company and ISO procedures/standards.
•Work with clients both in Ireland and the UK.
The ideal candidate will possess
Essential:
Relevant IT Third Level qualification
Cobol (Minimum of 2 yrs)
Good client facing & customer service skills
Good problem solving skills
Travel from time to time may be required
Desirable:
Delphi
Oracle SQL
Unix
Clearcase
