Description: SQL Server/Informix DBA required for Top Client based outside Dublin.

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum 3 years of Microsoft SQL Server DBA or Informix DBA experience & Windows OS experience.
• Experience with OLTP and VLDB database environments.
• Experience with performance tuning of MS SQL applications and instances.
• Experience with MS SQL software installation, upgrades and migrations.
• Proven ability to lead major database projects through various life cycles.
• Previous experience with an e-commerce company a plus.

Key responsibilities:

• Setup, maintain, upgrade, monitor and tune Microsoft SQL Server instances in a 24x7, high availability, environment.
• Work closely with developers on application design, performance and to write efficient SQL for databases.
• Backup and recovery of Microsoft SQL Server instances and setup/maintenance of standby instances.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving of MS SQL instances.
• Implement and support instance and database security standards.
• Follow procedures identified by SOX and PCI standards and have an understanding of auditing requirements.

This position is based in the Clare region.
