Description: IT Advisory – Data & Enterprise Intelligence – Senior Manager

We are seeking individuals with significant client-side advisory experience or individuals who have gained project and technology delivery experience within large recognised organisations. We are looking for Senior Managers who a proven track record of delivering business value from information and data at an Enterprise level.

We work with leading organisations to define their Information strategy, diagnose, design and deliver innovative business performance management, business intelligence and analytics and effective data and content management solutions that are aligned to their business objectives.

As a Senior Manager in IT Advisory
• Build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities.
• Lead presentations and proposals for medium complex projects or elements of highly complex projects, and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals. Drawing on your skills and experience
• Create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.
• Create concise, high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems.
• Drive improvements in business processes, you'll make sure that project teams understand and comply with our Quality & Risk Management (QRM) guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, and help key staff to build sustainable competencies.

Responsibilities include:
• Work confidently at senior client levels, building 'trusted advisor' relationships
• Solve business and technology issues through collaboration and teaming
• Apply knowledge and experience to shape services to clients and present project outputs via concise, high quality work products
• Assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
• Lead and participate in business development initiatives
• Build strong internal relationships within Advisory and across other service lines
• Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
• Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training IT professionals
• Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
• Understand and follow workplace policies and procedure

Required Skills
• Very strong experience with a blue chip consulting firm, industry or government organisation
• Proven experience in business development
• Strong academic record including a third level degree
• At this Senior Manager level, there will be opportunities to work across our focus sectors within the Performance Improvement IT Advisory team (Health, Utilities, Transport, Government) so experience in these sectors would also be an advantage

You will have knowledge and experience of a number of the following areas:
• A proven track record of delivering business value from information and data at an Enterprise level to enable consumer driven business strategies, digital enablement and regulatory compliance
• Have a proven ability to be able to take a 'big picture' strategic view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of technologies and approaches required for digital enablement
• Having a track record of implementing Information and Data strategies across large scale projects, taking ownership of solutions and managing change at a high level taking responsibility both internal and external clients
• Alignment of Business and IT, operating across organisational and technology "silos" to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and reusable solutions
• Promotion of shared information management and data governance to reduce costs and improve information flows
• Effective governance for Information and Data, including data management frameworks, linking to broader governance structure
• Management of information services, data analytics, architecture, business intelligence, change management and release management
• Track record with a blue chip consulting firm or as an IT Executive within a leading Enterprise/Organisation
• Experience working with board level members (typically CEO, CTO, COO and CDO).

IT Advisory - Architecture – Senior Manager

My client is expanding their Advisory practice and specifically building our Performance Improvement (PI) team. Due to this expansion we are seeking to recruit high achieving individuals to be part of our growing business.

As a Solution or Enterprise Architect in IT Advisory, you’ll be responsible for building valuable relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities that leverage Technology, Architecture and Sector expertise.

Client Delivery: You’ll be responsible for delivering clear, concise, high-quality work products and act as a lead architect on one or more engagements at a time, leveraging your knowledge and sector experience to resolve particular client problems.

Business Development: You’ll be responsible for leading proposals and client presentations for complex projects or elements of highly complex projects, and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals.

Thought Leadership: Drawing on your skills and experience, you’ll create innovative insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership.

Technical Skills requirements

You’ll have knowledge and experience of a number of the following areas:
• A proven track record of delivering business value from IT either by aiding clients develop and govern their enterprise architecture or by providing solution architecture in response to a particular business need.
• Have a proven ability to be able to take a ‘big picture’ strategic view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of technologies and approaches.
• Having a track record of delivery within a number of large scale IT transformation projects, taking ownership of architecture solutions and managing change while taking responsibility for both internal and external clients.
• Have experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, operating across organisational and technology "silos" to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and reusable solutions.
• Knowledge of a range of architecture methodologies including EA frameworks such as
MODAF, DODAF, Zachman and in particular TOGAF.
• Have used architecture tools such as System Architect, Rational Rose, Casewise, Aris or equivalent.
• Have a track record with a blue chip consulting or systems integration firm or as an IT Senior Manager within a leading Enterprise/Organization.
• Be comfortable working with board level members (typically CEO, CTO and COO).
• Have worked in one or more of the following sectors: Utilities, Consumer Goods, Tech and Media, Public Sector, Health, Transport
• To be a recognised by your peers as an expert in one or more of the following TOGAF architectural domains: Business, Application, Data and Technology.

Ideally to have experience in one or more of the following specialisms: Business Intelligence, Service Management, Mobile, Security, Cloud, Integration

Client responsibilities
• Participate in and, as required, lead ITA engagements.
• Manage financial aspects of client engagements and communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates to complete to partners and clients.
• Assist partners and directors with generating new business opportunities and building client networks and relationships.
• Understand all our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
Build strong internal relationships with in Advisory and across other services.

The successful candidate will be confident in dealing with technical and business subject matter experts and will possess the appropriate level of technical knowledge, experience and qualifications necessary to fulfil the role.


Core Technical Skills:

The successful candidate will demonstrate at least 3 of the following 4 core skills

• 3+ years report design & development experience in an enterprise data warehousing environment (SSRS)
• 3+ years Microsoft Business Intelligence technology (SSIS) experience
• 5+ years MS SQL development experience (T-SQL)
• 3+ years software development experience (C# & ASP.NET, Windows Forms) – not essential

Experience:

• Experience within the financial services sector would be beneficial, but it is not a prerequisite
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, dimensional, relational data modelling
• Knowledge of modern development techniques such as .NET MVC, Entity Framework
• Familiarity with Javascript frameworks, in particular JQuery

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Maintenance of business critical, bespoke software applications, data warehouses and reporting suite by designing, developing and implementing small changes in line with best practices and standards
• The development of applications to facilitate the run off of the business.
• Liaising with the Business Analysts, Business users and Project Teams to understand and translate data requirements into technical specifications to support the run off business.
• Performing Data Analysis to establish system or project data issues or gaps
