Client Profile
Our Client develops an award winning IP communications Test and Measurement system primarily aimed at the Internet Video, Voice, Telepresence and Security markets and is currently in the process of growing its development team, with a number of open positions.

Our client includes some of the worlds most well known Telecom Equipment Vendors and Service Providers as their customers.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to help solve some of the biggest problems currently facing service providers and network equipment manufacturers.

Our client is looking to fill a number of Senior Developer positions.

Senior Java Developer:
Role Profile
Experienced developers with 4+ years experience are needed for these challenging roles. Strong technical and communication skills will be required. These roles will be hands on and will suit those looking for a challenge and those willing to take on responsibility. Excellent Java and J2EE skills are essential. An understanding of NoSQL databases would be a bonus. This role offers an opportunity to assess new technologies, and to influence the future direction of the product. This role will suit those looking for a challenge, and looking to significantly influence their area of work.

Description of Role:
• Work within a team of engineers to develop and improve the core product
• Contribute to all aspects of the SDLC, from specification and design, development, integration, rollout and maintenance
• Technical Environment: Java, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Mongo, Postgres

Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technology discipline.
• 3+ Years experience software development experience using enterprise Java
• Strong Java and J2EE Skills
• Database experience using Hibernate, Spring and JDBC
• Experience in any of the following an advantage:
• JPA/Hibernate
• NoSQL databases
• Dependency Injection (Spring or JEE 5/6)
• Application Servers (JBoss, Glassfish etc)
• JMS (activemq, JBoss mq)
• WebService Technologies
• JAXB
• Java Content Repositories (JCR)
• Bean Validation (JSR 303)
• Strong Understanding of Design Patterns
• Strong Analysis, design, and estimation skills
• Excellent Problem Solving Skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Experience working with remote team members an advantage

Description: Permanent position with a Top Financial Services Company South Dublin.
My Financial Services client is looking for a Java Developer with 3-4 years experience. The successful candidate will work in a software environment, comprising multiple distributed agile teams, delivering Java-based enterprise-class web services and multi-channel delivery solution.

3-4yrs experienced Java Developer, the Spring Framework, Hibernate, Eclipse and JBoss server Platform
IT Degree formal qualification with work experience or equivalent 3 yrs+ on the job development experience of enterprise-class Java development


Role Responsibilities:
• Receive / produce solution requirements / specifications and determine the optimal design approach (including object/component model, service interfaces), conducting impact assessments as required
• Design, code, test and implement solutions of a complex nature
• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation
• Display proficiency and provide thought leadership, in a number of key Java technologies
• Develops the capability of the agile teams through mentoring of more inexperienced colleagues
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software factory; e.g. methods, tools, processes, etc.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software solutions through continuous review, refactoring, etc.

Role Requirements (Essential):
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
 3-4 years experienced developer in the following application languages and development platforms: Java, the Spring Framework, Hibernate, Eclipse, and the JBoss server platform
 IT Degree formal qualification with work experience
 Experience of enterprise middleware (e.g. IBM MQ-Series)
 Lead developer experience on enterprise-class Java (including web service development) projects, plus application servers – in particular JBoss
 Practical experience with automated unit and integration testing, source management, and continuous build/integration tools; particularly in the Java environment.
 Practical experience in object oriented design and best practices (including design patterns)
 Excellent technology focus on a range of tools/platforms
 Experience of software development projects across the Software Development Life Cycle; in particular agile development
 Ability to deal with changing priorities and several problems/issues at the same time
 The ability to work on own initiative, to learn quickly, to problem solve technical issues in a creative yet logical manner, to have a proactive approach to work
 Must be "self starter"; work well in agile teams, with good inter-personal & communication skills
 Excellent Customer Service manner (ability to engage directly with the business).

Key Requirements (desirable):
In addition to the essential experience required, the following experience is desirable:
 Java certification
 Spring framework certification
 Software development in financial services environments
 Familiarity with financial services regulatory compliance; e.g. SOx compliance requirements

Additional requirements:
The successful candidate(s) will be expected to deliver top class internal customer support in a sometimes pressurised environment with competing demands and the need for swift problem resolution.

Job Description:
• Develop, maintain, implement and manage the organization technology and infrastructure principles, standards and guidelines.
• Develop, maintain, implement and manage the organization technology inventory and architecture landscape
• Articulating at a strategic level data centre operational frameworks and how they apply to data centre service provider
• Building, developing and documenting infrastructure processes with a focus on technology growth, performance, reliability and security
• Leading the process of defining the infrastructure design of all IT systems, including high level and detailed design planning and/or reviews
• Maintain a deep understanding of infrastructure architecture trends as well as a high level of expertise around enterprise products and technologies
• Provide continuity and consistency in all major infrastructure solution decisions.
• Provide input to develop and maintain the IT Strategy.
• Work with the Applications Architect to determine how technology can be applied to meet business needs.
• Maintain knowledge and deep expertise in the technology and infrastructure landscape relevant to the company
• Guide project teams in the selection and implementation technological solutions.
• Pro-actively identify and promote architectures that are beneficial to or aligned with the company business needs
• Promote and present infrastructure design and principles to IT colleagues and senior business management
• Resolve high-level functional issues as they emerge.

Skill Set:
• Degree in business computer science or a related field.
• Experienced architect with at least seven years of hands-on technology / infrastructure experience with a broad knowledge of development platforms, languages and technologies.
• Deep understanding of the architecture disciplines, processes, concepts and best practices.
• Working knowledge of TOGAF
• Previous experience with initiating and maintaining strategic relationships both internally and externally, using strong influencing skills to achieve business goals
• Provide coaching in the development of the technical skills and abilities in others
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with the ability to generate innovative technical solutions as required
• A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability and impact of technical / professional decisions on the performance of the organisation
• Driver of high standards for individual, team and organisational accomplishment and delivering desired results
• Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion, along with the ability to communicate complex information to others.
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external) with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
• Highly motivated individual with strong leadership and technical problem solving skills.
• ITIL Certification to Manager Level is desirable.


Remuneration Package:
Salary band €65-83k per annum plus 15% bonus and benefits package
