Description: Senior Java Developer - Permanent €55-65k

My client based in South Dublin is looking for a Senior Java Developer for a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to move into a team lead position.
Role Overview
Based in Dublin, the successful candidate will be responsible for the, design, specification and development of Java based business applications. You will work within an expanding team that encompasses both frontend / backend development and your role will involve analysis, development and overseeing other developers as needed to complete product releases in line with our agreed plans. The successful applicant will have significant experience of the full software development lifecycle with the potential to take on a development team lead role over time.

Responsibilities:
• Development and design for the next generation of the company’s online systems.
• Develops high quality software that conforms to coding standards for performance and security.
• Creates technical specifications and development timelines/estimates as part of an iterative development cycle using the best practices from Scrum.
• Oversees developers/contract resources in delivering all development iterations on time and to quality.
• Provides application support on an as needed / escalated basis.
• Will be fully conversant and compliant with all data management and information security policies.
Your Profile
• A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College
• Excellent command of Java , J2EE and related development tools. You will have a minimum of 7 years professional experience with at least the last 2 years in a lead role of consequence.
• Strong database development skills and experience including logical design and SQL programming.
• Experienced in delivery of solutions utilizing JSF, Spring, Hibernate and web service frameworks such as Axis/CXF.
• Experienced in deployment to JBOSS application servers and associated server environments.
• Knowledgeable about Web UI front end development and understands challenges in implementing rich web interfaces using JSF .
• Proven analytic and problem solving abilities.
