Description: Java Test Developer

I am currently looking to hire a Java Test Developer for a great company in Dublin – this is a permanent role.

The successful candidate is likely to have 3 or more years’ experience in a J2SE/J2EE environment

Some exposure to the Android mobile platform, either from an app development or test perspective, would be highly beneficial (but not essential)

Proven ability to author effective software programs using OO languages such as Java and Python or prior knowledge of languages such as Groovy, Perl or Ruby is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a background in either automated testing or software development with a desire to remain on the Quality Assurance career path or have a desire to be trained in test.

The following items are essential before being considered for the role:
Java / J2EE development
Strong Python and/or Perl experience
Familiarity with shell scripting (ksh, bash, etc)
Familiarity with SQL
Familiarity with XML
Experience working in an Agile development environment

Desirable
Test Automation tools (one or more of: Selenium, Robotium, Jmeter, Junit, LoadRunner, WinRunner or similar tools.)

I am looking to hire an experienced Java Technical Architect for a permanent role based in Dublin


The successful candidate will be an integral part of the organization responsible for driving both functional and non function requirements. You will be driving performance and scalability from software and infrastructure on a large scale – dealing with processing high volume payment files in short windows of time. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and will be an integral member of the engineering team.

The role involves:
• Responsibility for the research, design, and development of the architecture in accordance with specified business and architectural requirements.
• Responsibility for leading and mentoring developers in delivering the above architecture and subsequent product components that will reside within the architecture.
• Ownership of the technical lifecycle of all aspects of the constituent projects and the delivery of high quality supporting design documentation will be involved.
• Develop highly secure and scalable software.
• Provide a technical strategy that is in line with the company/ product strategy.
• Assist in the provision of resources and cost estimates for development work.
• Produce systems architecture design documentation based on the system requirements.
• Investigation of new technologies/concepts and delivery of proof of concepts.
• Liaising with other areas of the organization to provide technical expertise and guidance.

Basic Requirements:
• BS or higher in Computer Science or an IT related discipline.
• Minimum of ten years industry experience, with experience in an Architect role using Java and related technologies.
• Ability to coach, mentor and lead at a technical level, adapting an approachable helpful, non judgmental style in leading the development teams.
• Ability to develop and promote continuous improvement in software development practices, in a flexible, innovative and communicative manner.
• Will have previous experience of working on a variety of projects with responsibility for bringing a high level specification through all stages of development and to deliver a quality system.
• Fluency with Java and good understanding of OO principals, enterprise architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with Spring, EJB or other application frameworks.
• Experience with the following technologies:
o Spring Batch/Integration or other Batch processing frameworks
o JPA, Hibernate
o Web Services: SOAP, REST
o Struts MVC, Spring MVC, AJAX, JQuery, JSP
o XML Processing: SAX, StAX, JAXB, XPath, XSLT

Preferred Requirements:
• SEPA knowledge and experience is an advantage.
