.Net Application Developer

Role Overview:
Based in Dublin the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and support of a .NET based quote and policy sales web site and system. The successful applicant will have experience of the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Working within a dedicated team, you will code and support a number of quote and policy sales web sites and systems.
• Develop and unit test high quality code that is fit for purpose and conforms to coding standards for performance and security.
• Creates technical specifications and development timelines/estimates as part of an iterative development cycle using the best practices from Scrum.
• Delivering all development iterations on time and to quality.
• Provides production support on an as needed basis on request of the Operations manager.
• As access to production systems for the purpose of providing application support is part of this role, you will be required to be fully conversant and compliant with all data management and information security policies.
Experience and Qualification:
• Minimum of 4 years professional experience in a support and development role.
• A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College.

Competency:
• Experience and competency in working with .Net Framework up to 4.0, VS 2010.
• Experience with an agile development, including TDD and xUnit.Net, Refactoring, and continuous build and integration, as well as estimation, team practices and reporting.
• Strong database skills and experience including logical design and SQL programming.

Essential :
• Command of C#, ASP.net, Win forms, XML, JavaScript, CSS and SQL Server.
• Creation, Test and Deployment of Web Services in .Net - C# using XML, SOAP & WSDL.
• Usage and knowledge of JQuery and Ajax

Plus:
• Command over LINQ, XPATH, WCF, MsBuild and MVC
• Support or Development experience with BizTalk

Personal Skills Requirements:

• Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Role Overview:

Overview:
My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Senior Product Tester. This is a permanent role with an excellent Financial Services client.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
• Develop an understanding of existing system architecture, components and related requirements/specifications.
• Contribute to all aspects of the systems Quality Assurance process for both new and existing functionality. Test strategy definition, test case specification for both manual and automated testing and test automation.
• Execute test cases, results analysis, raise bug report and regress all resolved bugs.
• Quality assurance of customer functionality, system performance, failover/stress testing and operational/error reporting.
• Liaise with business (product managers and customer support) and development team to identify test requirements. Take part in review of requirement documentation and make sure that it is brought to satisfactory level by its originators.
• Manage QA test environments including DB test data and multiple versions of software releases.

Experience/Qualifications:
• Knowledge and extensive experience of automation testing, web applications UI and web services functionality.
• Strong experience of automation test tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Green Hat and scripting languages.
• Experience of XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Tomcat, Java, Web Services and SQL.
• Knowledge of application stress, load and performance testing.
• Experience of testing DB application.
• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills, self-motivated, high performing and goal oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems.

Desirable:
• Expertise and experience with relational databases.

Qualification and Experience Required

• A third level degree in Computer Science, or equivalent working experience
• Minimum of four year’s experience in an application or systems support role.
• Experience of front line application support and implementing fixes to existing systems
• Experience of deploying software upgrades into product environments
• Experience of batch monitoring and back up administration
• Experience supporting applications in C#, PL SQL or SQL, Java
• Experience of supporting Databases, ideally Oracle but not essential.
• Has worked in financial services, utilities or equivalent.


Duties and Responsibilities

The person will be keen to develop within the role, and open to learning new disciplines and new skill sets.
• Day to day support and monitoring of our business systems
• Front line support to trouble shoot, diagnose and fix software issues on our business systems.
• Incident management, resolution and escalation of issues on all environments both internally and with our IT partners.
• Maintaining and updating the monitoring systems, running scripts and batch processes
• Managing the deployment process to ensure successful deployment of new systems, software and upgrades.
• Maintaining and managing test, development and production environments.
• Maintaining the documentation set on all applications and systems
Diagnosing system and application software problems.
• Testing of offsite backup solution
• Training on upgrades to our systems and applications to teams within the business
• Maintaining and updating password and access security levels for users
• Working closely with the IT Manager to determine how applications can be developed and supported to meet the business needs





Interpersonal Skills

• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments
