The operating environment is fast-paced and the expanded use of a new system is driving a continuous stream of support and enhancement requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team to ensure excellent client service is provided to the operational users.
Effective liaison and relationship-building with the users, the internal IS team and the 3rd-party supplier will be essential to success.

Key Responsibilities:
The Manager of the Production Support and Development will be responsible for managing the team of two support analysts to: -
Provide business and technical support of the unit-linked policy administration system : -
• Receiving / logging support calls and issues
• Analysing problems, including root cause analysis
• Communication with other system support teams
• Defining possible solutions/ rectification
• Liaising with 3rd party Supplier for system changes including
• Implementing scripts and code/data fixes
• Effective and timely communication with all involved parties
• Support of multi-region / timezones / cultures

Implement system enhancements and releases:-
• Prioritise requirements with user community and suppliers
• Help define requirements based on business and system knowledge
• Release management
• Regression testing (utilising automated tools)
• System testing to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and production
• System performance testing
• Develop effective supporting processes and procedures

Required / Desirable Qualifications and Experience for Senior Business Analyst:
 Bring a minimum of 7 years Financial Services experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a Life Assurance Company
 Experience in Financial Services and Life Assurance technologies used to support business lines are essential e.g. SQL, LIFE400 (AS400 type system), Cobol, SAP
 Experience in other technologies such as Excel, Visio, MS Project, Word, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
 Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
 Understand Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
 Understand how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other
 Business Analysis qualification and significant proven experience.
 Demonstrable delivery record in a pressurised financial environment.
 Significant exposure to change management and project management in financial organisations.
 Have extensive experience in all aspects of Testing (Planning, Scripting, Testing, UAT, Issue management) for all business processes on Unit Linked and Life Assurance products as well as automated Test Tools.
 Excellent inter-personal, team building and people management skills.

Description: Senior QA Test Analyst with Life & Pensions experience required for top Life Assurance Company based in Dublin. Permanent.

The Job
Reporting to a QA Manager the Senior QA Test Analyst will be responsible for the planning, development, documentation and execution of functional requirements and system integration Test Plans within a Life Assurance systems environment. This position is suited to an experienced QA Test analyst, with proven Life Assurance and QA testing experience.

Standard Quality Assurance functions covering the full software development life-cycle include:
• Developing and implementation of test plans and test scripts for verifying and validating Mainframe and Web applications.
• Executing both manual and automated test plans for existing application.
• Software testing to include functional scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error validation, defect retesting, usability and performance testing.
• Identifying, analysing and documenting defects and questionable functions in application functionality.
Working in conjunction with the QA Team Lead the Senior QA Analyst will also have the following responsibilities:
• Balancing the need to meet exacting standards for new developments and enhancements with the need to provide an efficient cost effective service.
• Ensuring that Regression testing is performed in a manner that recognises the risks of introducing defects into an established environment while at the same time meeting the demanding deadlines.
• Where appropriate, provide input into decisions to deliver functionality to a production environment before the completion of the associated QA work. Highlighting any particular risks and suggesting appropriate controls on production process pending completion of the QA work.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience working in a Testing role in a full time capacity. Experience in testing quality standards, policies and procedure’s is desirable.
They will also have:
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and technical writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, cross departmental and, on occasion, with external clients.
• Ability to interrogate business processes, analyze Specifications and process models to create detailed and complex test conditions and scenarios.
• Experience with the following systems is also desirable: Mainframe, MVS Operating System, TSO, SDSF, FileAid and ENDEVOR
Certification in ISTQB Foundation Course in Software Testing is desirable. However a detailed knowledge of the Life Insurance industry is a pre-requisite.
