The role will involve:
Managing, maintaining and improving the company's infrastructure including:
General corporate systems
Core Engineering systems
Dublin and Milpitas office networks
Company VPN
Interacting with the company's Engineering department to discover its IT needs, discuss potential solution and implement agreed solutions
Managing company backup strategy
Working with external suppliers in support of outsourced IT projects
Installation of new hardware and software in support of company IT needs
General day to day support of desktop PCs and laptops.

Applicants should have:
Minimum of 3 yrs experience in Systems Administration on Linux and Windows environments
Strong understanding of Linux systems (particularly RedHat/CentOS/Fedora)
Excellent IP networking skills
Experience in Firewalls, VPNs and DNS a must
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be self motivated and a team player
Familiarity with virtualization environments and running systems in virtual machines
A willingness to travel (infrequently) to the company's office in Milpitas, California, USA
Familiarity with identifying, installing, configuring and maintaining XAMPP and LAMP based opensource tools e.g. mediawiki, bugzilla would be an advantage.
Familiarity with the subversion revision control system would be an advantage

Description: My Dublin based client currently requires an experienced Systems Administrator for a permanent role in North Dublin. The candidate will join a team of Unix Systems Administrators providing support to all the Unix (Solaris), Linux (Red Hat) and SAN storage & fabric environments under the teams responsibility

Unix Administrator Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include designing and implementing processes and procedures to insure the availability of our Unix and Linux servers, troubleshooting both hardware and software problems, and providing day-to-day systems support. The candidate will join a global team of Unix System administrators providing support to all our Unix & Linux systems.

Unix Administrator Essential Requirements
• 6+ years of experience with Solaris systems administration
• Solid understanding of Solaris 10 with experience in Solaris 11 an advantage
• 4+ years experience with Red Hat Enterprise Server administration
• Experience writing and maintaining shell scripts
• Experience with Citrix Netcaler platforms
• Strong analytical and design skills, excellent planning and problem solving skills
• Knowledgeable in performance tuning
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise storage
• 2+ years of experience with SAN fabric management
• 2+ years project management skills
• Flexibility to be on-call 24X7 and work nights/weekends when needed
• Some international travel may be required
• Education: BS degree or comparable experience

Desirable Requirements:
• Previous experience with Oracle Database and applications would be advantage
Competencies
• Team player with good customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Must be able to work independently and on a team with minimal supervision

I am recruiting a Linux Administrator. The role will be largely Linux but will have some infrastructure work included




I am looking to recruit a Linux Administrator with responsibility for first and second level support for the production infrastructure and applications of two of our Irish sites.




Key Responsibilities

• Day to day support of the production Infrastructure and Applications

• Management of user authorisation for Applications

• Proactive support for all applications including, database cleaning, logging and monitoring

• Database maintenance (monitoring and adding extends etc.)

• Documentation, installation and testing of patches

• Maintaining VPN Connectivity to satellite sites

• Develop and maintain knowledge base for support of infrastructure and applications

• Linux and shell scripting and programming

• Linux Clustering



Skills Requirements

The candidate is expected to be proficient in a number of technologies commonly used in the

enterprise environment including:

• Linux RHEL (5+6) (Essential)

• Microsoft Windows NT4.0/XP/7 and Office 2003/2010

• Microsoft Server 2k3/2k8 technologies e.g. Active Directory, DNS/DHCP/WINS Management,
Group policy and server management

• Microsoft SQL server and database management 2005/2008

• Configuring and maintaining VPN Connectivity

• Backup and Recovery Tools (Symantec/Veeam/Ultrabac)

• TCP/IP and related protocols

• Production Systems Management (BCS, GPS)




Key Requirements


• BSc in Computer Technology or related

• 2 years+ experience in a Linux Administrator role or similar

• Linux RHCSA or RHCSE (Distinct advantage)

• Cisco CCNP /SQL Server Administration (Advantage)

• Previous SOX compliance experience (Advantage)

• Ability to work collaboratively across project teams

• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills

• Willingness and ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Location: Dublin

Permanent Role – salary Circa 40k Negotiable D.O.E.


We require an experienced linux system administrator to assist in the support and development of our high availability systems infrastructure.

This role will involve monitoring of the production and back-office systems, identify and resolve issues, and also assist in the roll-out of new systems and network components. An excellent, early-career role for someone to work on critical infrastructure

Ideal Candidate must have:
• At least 3-5 years’ experience administering a *nix infrastructure (ISP experience advantageous but not essential)
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Strong focus on security.
• Strong focus on best practice change and incident management.
• History of working in a PCI environment (experience with PCI-DSS a significant advantage).
• Fluent English both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities:
• Daily monitoring of system infrastructure.
• Daily system, log and backup analysis.
• Daily administration and support of production, test and development environments.
• Troubleshooting problems and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of hardware, software and network components and systems.
• Involvement in systems development and new technology projects.

Experience:
• Excellent knowledge of Linux system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation (iptables, ipsec, rsync, LAMP, linux email solutions, asterisk)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and DNS protocols.
• Excellent knowledge of MySQL
• Excellent knowledge of internet protocols HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SMTP, SSL
• Knowledge of Red Hat Linux, to include standard services, protocols, applications, software updates and data recovery.
• Proficient with at least two of the following scripting tools: bash, perl, awk, sed, php, vbscript
• Networking and connectivity troubleshooting
• It would be expected that the candidate will have a very good working knowledge of TCP/IP protocol structure and setup of networking infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (MS Active Directory, Windows XP, MS Office)
