Job Description
Develop and maintain the cloud-based infrastructure
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Develop tools to automate away repetitive tasks such as building and deploying releases, tracking down users trying to abuse the systems, and general maintenance and upkeep
Contribute to product design to help ensure they will scale and be reliable in production
Work on projects to improve the performance and reliability of the products
Provide desktop support to users in the office
Technologies Used
FreeBSD, EC2, S3, EIP, Cloudfront, Rackspace cloud
Puppet, hiera, Jenkins, Rundeck, Nexus
MySQL, Postgres, REDIS, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch
NGINX, HAProxy, Varnish, Tomcat
Logstash, Kibana, Zabbix

Requirements
Rock solid Linux/Unix admin skills.
TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, DHCP, etc.
Worked in a production cloud environment, e.g. AWS, Rackspace, DigitalOcean, etc. You understand their limitations as well as their benefits.
Analytical and methodical approach. This should include capacity planning for future growth, assessing the impact of new features on performance and also debugging failures in production.
Solid database admin experience. You have implemented and maintained a replicated deployment in production. Preferably MySQL or Postgres.
A keen understanding of how to monitor production systems.
Ability to write scripts to automate tasks (Python, bash, etc.).
Good documentation skills.
SCM experience, svn, git, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience
Experience administering an e-commerce platform
Experience working in a domain registry or registrar
Experience with any of REDIS, Puppet, Jenkins
An understanding of (or desire to learn about) modern development and devops practices
Knowledge of or an interest in mobile web

My Dublin based client currently requires a Network Support Engineer to provide day-to-day up keep on their network, data centre and be the onsite equipment support.

Duties:
The successful candidate will undertake the following:

Administer Cisco Layer2 and Layer 3 Switching environment
Extend Network to new locations as assigned
Administer HP Blade Enclosure and HP EVA
Administer VMware infrastructure
Look after backups (Commvault)
Administer Windows Server environment
Administer Checkpoint Firewalls
Administer a vast Cisco WLAN

Essential:
Strong cisco skills VLANS, STP, Trunking, HSRP, Eigrp, VVRP, VSS
Must have very good networking fundamentals and firm grasp of the following protocols DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, MAC addressing, SSH, SMTP, Ethernet, etc
Candidate requires extensive MS exchange 2010 experience, with knowledge of operating a DAG (Database Availability Group) a distinct advantage.
ESXi, V-Centre, Vsphere and SRM
Data centre monitoring and equipment replacement
Structured cabling and Rack mounting experience
HP Blade Enclosure and server admin.
SAN administration. Creation and expansion of LUNs. Capacity Planning. Replication
DR experience
In depth knowledge of firewall fundamentals. Preferably checkpoint. Writing rules and troubleshooting connectivity
IPS/IDS knowledge
Experience with Commvault. Implementation and Admin
Citrix Netscaler and Xenapp server
Strong Documentation skills creating and maintaining policies and procedures, SOW, and other project documentation as required
ITIL knowledge desired

Qualifications:

CCNA, Microsoft Qualifications, VM Ware

Overview

My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Network Security Engineer to join their existing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be joining a dynamic and dedicated team of engineers.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Architecture, deployment, and support of enterprise network security and engineering systems including IDS/IPS, NetFlow, and 2FA security procedures.
Led or have been heavily engaged in projects developing large-scale network monitoring, automation, and tools deployment.
Advocate and execute proper change management principles to ensure network availability and reliability for over 35,000 active users worldwide user.
Leverage, interpret, and rely on packet and flow analysis tools to drive troubleshooting, visibility, and root cause analysis of anomalies.
Lead efforts in DDoS management and mitigation
Effectively communicate to senior org management, and mentor other engineers and teams.
On-call shift rotation for week-long coverage approximately once every 2 months.
Leverage of good knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, Unix/Linux/FreeBSD
Leverage deep experience with a variety of enterprise Networking, Network Security, and datacenter traffic management devices
Using familiarity with workflow ticketing systems (such as Remedy) is a plus
Meeting needs for infrequent travel may be necessary
Utilizing networking or Network Security certifications not required, but could be a plus
Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

Working in a growing IT team with developing procedures based on ITIL Framework

Experience & Technical Skills:

Microsoft Certified (Windows Server 2008/2012)
Strong understanding of Citrix Virtualization
VMware Certified Professional
A working understanding of monitoring tools
Experience supporting a corporate Windows environment
Experience Managing storage and backups.
ITIL knowledge and experience
Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and MS Office 365
Strong networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Experience in leading and delivering projects.
