Description: Technical Field Service Engineer

My Dublin based client is currently looking for an experience, highly motivated and technically experienced Field Service Engineer.

The successful candidate will ensure the effective and timely resolution of all intendents raised by the support desk, complete installations to a timeline that has been set and provide out of hours support on a scheduled basis to our customer base.

Key Responsibilities
• Support of existing software and hardware, via on site support, remote via team viewer and over the phone.
• Manage multiple priority tickets to ensure timely resolution
• Training of the portfolio via one-to-one or group training
• Establish relationships internally and with the customer base
• Complete installations of new hardware and software from planning to training and signing off
• Comply with the company policies and procedures
• Participate in new company projects that could include new systems, new products and new services
• Ensure hardware repairs or replacements are completed and documented accordingly

Skills Required
• Customer service driven
• Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual
• Analytical skills
• Problem solving ability
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Ability to work well under pressure, and prioritise
• Attention to detail

Experience
• Experience in a similar role (preferable)
• Proven experience in using IT systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office at a minimum
• Networking skills both in a hardware and software scope
• High level of college education in IT (preferable) or CompTIA +A certificate
• A good understand of the Hospitality and Retail market with work experience (preferable)
• Must have a full clean driving licence

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Assisting staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
• Replacing parts as required
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
• Supporting the roll-out of new applications
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
• Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time.
• Testing and evaluating new technology
• Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
• To assist with the maintenance of the ICT asset register, ensuring all assets are tagged and accurately recorded in the register
• Facilitating and participating in Web based technology and Internet and Intranet site development.

General Requirements

• Contribute to team meetings and play an active role in the development of the service delivered by the team
• Comply with, and actively support, all the organisations policies and procedures, and in particular those relating to the delivery of ICT services and information security
• Be willing to learn and undertake training in-post
• Have a fluent command of English
• Participate in and contribute to the quality management system.


Skills, competencies and knowledge

 Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows on both desktops and server’s desirable
 Desktop experience: Windows 7 and 10
 Possess strong IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 is desirable
 Ability to diagnose and problem solve
 Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
 Self-motivated
 Ability to work on own and under pressure
 Good time management, well organised with the ability to prioritise
 Good telephone manner
 Microsoft technical or user qualifications (MOS, MCSA, ECDL etc.) an advantage but not essential.

Eligibility Criteria
• Have obtained a third level qualification, minimum HETAC Level 6.

Purpose of the position

My client is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the IT Service Delivery team in the capacity of Junior Service Desk Support person.

The function of the Service Delivery team is to provide central IT services to a number of different business units within the company

We are looking for a Junior individual who has a passion for IT and has at least some form of IT qualification, to join the Tier 1 Service Desk team.

• Receiving all calls from customers to the IT Service Desk i.e. Via phone, email, walk-ups and via the Self-Service system.
• Centrally logging all calls into the Service Delivery system
• Ensuring all calls are correctly classified • Assigning all calls to the appropriate IT Support queue
• Ensuring that all calls and assignments are carried out in a timely fashion i.e. In accordance with the established SLA
• OS and Application password resets

This is a permanent full time position and the formal working hours are 09:00 to 17:30 Mon-Fri.

Requirements for Role

An IT qualification is essential.
Any previous experience working in an IT role is desirable.
Ability to prioritise based on established SLA hierarchy.
Attention to detail is a key requirement of the job.
Problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.
Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.

There will be 3-5 people in your team and the role will report into the CIO.

Environment Managing:
o 2008/2012 Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory,SQL Server 2012.
o All 3rd party vendor relationships.
o Network troubleshooting & diagnosis of our Lan and Wan network infrastructure.
o Installation & configuration of hardware, operating systems and other software products.
o Installation & configuration of supported applications.
o Supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots IT hardware, software and network problems.
o Security of the Network (Symantec).

Experience:

Minimum skills required:
o Exceptional understanding of MPLS network and seamless failover techniques.
o Understanding and experience of Cloud computing – Azure and AWS.
o Experience in PCI compliance and network security.
o Understanding and experience in managing VM environments.
o Willingness to work with managed Services partners for core Network and Infrastructure.
o Microsoft Windows Server 2003 / 2008

• Administer HP Blade Enclosure and HP EVA
• Administer VMware infrastructure

• Administer Windows Server environment

• Administer a vast Cisco WLAN

Essential:
• Strong cisco skills VLANS, STP, Trunking, HSRP, Eigrp, VVRP, VSS
• Must have very good networking fundamentals and firm grasp of the following protocols DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, MAC addressing, SSH, SMTP, Ethernet, etc
• Candidate requires extensive MS exchange 2010 experience, with knowledge of operating a DAG (Database Availability Group) a distinct advantage.
• ESXi, V-Centre, Vsphere and SRM
• Data centre monitoring and equipment replacement
• Structured cabling and Rack mounting experience
• HP Blade Enclosure and server admin.
• SAN administration. Creation and expansion of LUNs. Capacity Planning. Replication
• DR experience
• In depth knowledge of firewall fundamentals. Preferably checkpoint. Writing rules and troubleshooting connectivity
• IPS/IDS knowledge
• Experience with Commvault. Implementation and Admin
• Citrix Netscaler and Xenapp server
• Strong Documentation skills – creating and maintaining policies and procedures, SOW, and other project documentation as required
• ITIL knowledge desired

Qualifications:

• CCNA, Microsoft Qualifications, VM Ware
