Description: My Dublin based client currently requires an experienced IT manager to join their existing team in a permanent role.
• The role is for an IT Manager, to drive the development of our IT function to support our expansion both in Ireland and across Europe.
• The person will have a variety of experience of managing people, external vendors, software development projects and delivering infrastructure projects.
• They will have had previous hands on IT operational experience such as supporting and maintenance of applications, trouble shooting and bug fixing.
• The role calls for the person to like variety, and to be able to prioritise, manage and deliver multiple programmes across the IT spectrum. They will have the opportunity to build the optimal team through internal and external resources to support the company’s long terms plans.
• They will learn about the energy sector here in Ireland and develop systems to support our international growth.
• If you want to make a real difference, and be part of a new and dynamic part of Irish business, then this is the role for you.

Qualification and experience required:
• A third level degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years in IT roles, and a minimum of 2 years in managing the IT function or area for a company.
• Experience of delivering software development projects, and experience or appreciation of delivering infrastructure projects.
• Worked in environments that use Oracle SQL and PL SQL.
• Good understanding of Relational databases and object oriented programming.
• IT operational experience such as application support experience and managing data.
• Has hired and managed IT people, either internally or contractors, and has experience of managing external partners.
• Experience of working in Utilities, Financial services or Telco an advantage.
• Project management experience or qualifications an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The person will be keen to develop within the role, and open to learning new disciplines and new skill sets. They will have a friendly and positive manner.
• The person will help be responsible for developing and maintaining the key Customer Management and billing systems that support our business.
• Responsible for the day to day IT operations, including keeping data up to date in our systems.
• Drive the delivery of our IT projects on our development roadmap.
• Manage the implementation of all IT solutions into the business, from inception through to delivery onto production environments.
• Manage delivery of IT support and Services from all Service Providers.
• Ensure adequate levels of IT support and resources are in place to address the requirements of the business.
• Deliver IT solutions and applications to drive the business internationally.
• Ensure IT processes are compliant with Quality Management System.
Interpersonal Skills
• Self-motivated, team player, ability to work under tight project deadlines.
• Well organized, self-assured and confident in making decisions.
• Good communicator, comfortable dealing with technical people, and able to translate key information to talk to non-technical people in a clear and concise manner which instils confidence.
• Ability to adapt quickly, take on additional work that might be outside your comfort zone.
• Enjoy working in environments where one is encouraged to use their own initiative.
• Keen to develop within the role and open to learning new disciplines and skill set

Description: My Client has a permanent role available for an IT Operator.
If you have just completed your degree and looking to start your IT career with a Leading Financial Services Company this role may be of interest to you.
This is a permanent position with an approximate starting salary of €24,000 plus 28% shift allowance. This position involves working shift hours. Based in Dublin City Centre.

Job Description:
1. Managing the batch schedule through to completion.
2. Ensuring that all requests are processed in a timely manner without affecting online service.
3. Managing the resolution and escalation of alerts from the monitoring tools.
4. Producing client correspondence output across the group.
5. Maintaining and supporting our change control procedures to ensure that quality changes are implemented with efficiency and ease.
6. Assisting with cross-training of all staff in the Operations Centre.
7. Providing general support for IT Development areas, including provision of support for projects and the implementation of new products.
8. Providing prompt and efficient problem analysis and solving across all platforms.
9. Providing first level support if an issue arises during shift.
10. Liaising with the Service Desk during system problems
11. Completing all checklists, communications and reports in a timely fashion.
12. Participate and support the Continuous Improvement initiatives in Group IT.


Skill Set for IT Operator:

The successful candidate ideally should have:

• A third level IT qualification.
• Strong communication skills - effective verbal and written communication skills of both technical and business nature
• Good analytical skills
• A natural interest in technology
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to deal with business clients
• An ability to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlines
• A strong technical acumen and problem solving skills
• An inquisitive nature to query other team members/IT areas on specific technology or business issues in order to build up their own knowledge

In addition to that mentioned above, familiarity with some or all of the following system’s, would be an advantage
• Z/OS Mainframe Operating system
• Windows Server Operating system
• OPC/A & TWS Scheduling Tools
• JCL – mainframe job control language
• FTP - File transfer
• Connect Direct – File transfer
• StorageTek Tape Library
• Commvault Backup Software
• Knowledge of Windows, Office and Exchange.
• An understanding of Monitoring, Capacity and Performance Management.
• An understanding of Backup & Recovery processes and technology.
• Knowledge of ITIL Service, Change and Problem management processes.
