The Job
Reporting to the Technical Architect, the Technical Specialist will assist in managing, designing and delivering innovative IT solutions to assist the business areas.

They will also:
• Proactively manage incident reporting and escalation when required. Track & review root cause of IT errors and ensure implementation of preventative actions to avoid a re-occurrence.
• Maintain relevant operational controls over IT assets and their usage and deployment
• Ensure that relevant operational controls are in place and being adhered to and ensure reliability and availability of the IT technical environment.
• Provide technical leadership in relation to IT infrastructure developments.
• Assist in monitoring Disaster Recovery (DR) requirements ensuring that we are adequately covered. Coordinate DR tests where required.
• Assist in ensuring IT adherence to Governance controls.
• Deal with internal/external auditors where required.
• Work with Group IT (GIT) to proactively manage the GIT relationship to ensure satisfactory performance of the GIT service offering.
• Proactively manage client relationships to ensure satisfactory performance of the IT service offering to our clients.
• Work with development teams to ensure established architectural standards and best practices that ensure security and scalability of solutions are adhered to.

The Person
The ideal candidate will have extensive IT experience with a Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent. They will have proven ability in the design and delivery of IT Technical Projects.

They will also ideally have:
• Strong oral and written communication skills and technical writing skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Server Platform and IBM Mainframe Platform
• Microsoft certification

Excellent client based in Dublin South (Dartline) is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to be responsible for the daily Network administration of key network and security infrastructure in addition to acting as a key resource on network infrastructure projects as required. This role will involve managing network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, intrusion detection systems, network scanning and change control auditing.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
o On-going management of firewall and loadbalancer changes
o Implementation, documentation and troubleshooting of network configurations, ensuring security and redundancy. Solid experience of OSPF, BGP, Router redundancy protocols, VPN, ISDN, MPLS, Spanning-tree, VTP and network device security hardening will be particularly valued
o Management and tuning of Intrusion Detection Systems, knowledge of network vulnerability scanning & change audit tools and appropriate response to alerts/threats
o Detailed knowledge and experience of network monitoring and troubleshooting

Skill Set:
Previous experience
o A strong background in general administration of network and systems
o Display a competent and a broad working knowledge of networks and systems
o Application of detailed network knowledge and certifications in these areas
o Preferably strong working experience with Build and maintenance of Cisco firewall
o Change management and change implementation in High Availability Enterprise environments
