Main Responsibilities
• Designing, developing, testing and implementing quality Linux and database solutions within defined time scales
• Responsibility for undertaking complex technical assignments and leading work both within their own department and across the wider group
• Working with project teams and business users to analyse business and technical requirements
• Supporting and improving the Linux and database capability to ensure 24x7 availability
• Managing Linux and database security in accordance with industry best practice
• Performing Linux and database tuning
• Managing Back-up and Disaster Recovery of the Linux and database estate
• Analysing, planning and implementing Linux and database upgrade projects
• Identifying, prioritising and resolving Linux / database incidents and problems
• Capable of making decisions and recommendations regarding work activities, applications and systems that have a group-wide impact

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
• IT or Engineering degree or equivalent qualification complemented by 5-6 years relevant experience
• Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
• Knowledge of the constraints and challenges of supporting a secure, high-availability IT environment
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead Linux and Database bodies of work
• Red Hat Linux 7 Administration
• Oracle Linux Administration (5/6/7)
• Ansible Tower Administration
• Linux / Unix shell scripting
• Python Scripting
• Knowledge of Hardware / Software monitoring tools
• Oracle Database Administration (10g/11g/12c)
• SQL Server Database Administration (2008/2012/2014)
• Implementation of Oracle/SQL Server patches and upgrades
• Experience of managing and administrating 24x7 Linux and database servers
• Database cloning/refreshes
• Microsoft Windows 2008/2012 administration
• Experience of Database Backup and Recovery procedures (RMAN), familiarity with Commvault preferential
• Oracle RAC (10g/11g/12c) installation and support
• Oracle ASM and ACFS
• Oracle Enterprise Management (11g/12c) implementation and support
• Oracle VM implementation, administration and support
• Oracle Data Guard configuration and administration
• SQL Server Database Mirroring and Always On configuration and administration

Desirable:

The Role:
Our Support Function currently wish to recruit an Oracle eBs Team Lead for a permanrent . This role will
report to Application Development and Support Manager.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
•Working within the agreed SLA, lead day to day activities for the support of the Oracle eBS environment including
but not limited to:• Manage SLA Time Frames,• Managing day to day activities,• Assigning tasks,• Setting
priorities,• Coaching,• Mentoring,• Evaluating performance
•Manage SI to ensure the meet there SLA.
•Working with the project team deliver solutions in accordance with the
•Standard software development lifecycle to ensure the smooth transition from Business Analysis through to
implementation in the production environment to meet business requirements.
•Working with the IT Service desk and Operations to support IT applications including participating in DR testing,
incident management, resolution, escalation, in a timely manner and within the ITIL Framework.
•Liaise with BET and Functional team to establish, track and monitor business IT requirements. Communicate
effectively with business customers, Line manager and peers.
•Maintain high level of proficiency in appropriate modern technologies.
•Work in such a manner to develop and promote a progressive, professional and positive working environment
within the applications team.
•Working within the Application team to ensure appropriate process are implemented, in place and updated if
required.
•Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's,
objectives.

The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:
•A relevant third level or similar qualification or technical experience in the relevant subject matter.
•Knowledge of ITIL process and approach is desirable.
•Detailed knowledge of the technical content required to complete the role.
•Essential 10 years experience in a similar Functional or Technical leading role
•Have a good understanding of Oracle eBS R12, Oracle eBS Technical Support including Oracle eBS Sys Admin,
BI and Interfacing.
•Have a good knowledge of Oracle Development Tools set, customisations, extension, modification and workflow.
•Confident and comfortable interacting with people in various disciplines and at various levels of an organization
•Bachelor's degree and/or college equivalent (preferred engineering, computer science or business degrees)
•Team player with ability to work on their own initiative.
•Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas.
•Proficiency in the English language is a requirement.
•A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem solving skills.

As the Oracle BI ETL you will work within the Applications team and the Business to create an effective BI solution that meets the business requirements. You will develop a detailed understanding of the issues encountered, an understanding of development of the application, monitoring and the release process, and provide the required support from BI perspective for the OBIEE / OBIA footprint including but not limited to Oracle eBs and Oracle HRMS.
Operations:
• You are the internal owner for the OBIA Oracle BI Stack, with responsibility for Administration, monitoring and maintaining the applications.
• Support the BICC Manager in providing technical and process direction and support for the technical team of ETL (ODI) and BI (OBIEE / OBIA) developers in all phases of the delivery process: requirements / scoping, prototyping / design, development, testing, release and support.
• Co-ordinate with internal and external service providers and projects teams to ensure that current and future BI IT requirements are satisifed.
• Participate in the development of project plans to implement data warehouse solution and identify resource requirements.
Provide OBIA Application support and administration
Functional and Technical Design reviews
ODI monitoring, configuring , Maintaining, Deployment
ODI, OBIA Technical support and hands on development as required.
Work with source system owners to automate deliver information to the landing area.
• Be the "hands-on, end-to-end" expert in all layers of the OBIEE / OBIA / ODI stack with a proven track record of successful delivery in complex environments.
• Identify, recommend and best practices on ETL / OBIEE / OBIA architecture and repository development.
• Support and guide the cast of teammates performing ancillary roles within the BI teams.
• Lead future in-house system analysis, ETL design and development and system testing to create an integrated data warehouse based on custom and Oracle BI Applications mappings and reports.
Maintain high level of proficiency in appropriate modern technologies.
Success Criteria
A relevant third level or similar qualification or technical experience in the relevant subject matter.
Ideally 5/6 years experience in similar role.
Knowledge of ITIL process and approach is desirable.
Detailed knowledge of the technical content required to complete the role
• Experience of working within a technology development environment, preferably with an emphasis on utilities and Oracle BI applications
• Proven ODI ETL development in a data warehousing environment
• Proven OBIEE / OBIA architecture and repository and report developments using best practices
• Experience maintaining / modifying existing ETL code (not just new development)
• Ability to understand business requirements and develop software solutions
• Strong experience with data warehousing and ETL tools
• Experience with the SDLC and BI tools mainly with OBIEE / OBIA
• Must have experience with STAR ( SNOWFLAKE) schema techniques
• Must have experience performing user acceptance testing for applications
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to present the findings to business users
• Strong documentation skills and experience using OBIEE / OBIA as a report writing tool
• Proficiency in verbal and written communications (including presentation skills) and interpersonal skills
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to write proper documentation and building of a knowledge base
• Confident and comfortable interacting with people in various disciplines and at various levels of an organization
• Ability to think outside the box and come up with better ways of doing things when the opportunity presents itself
• Bachelor's degree and/or college equivalent (preferred engineering, computer science or business degrees)
• SOA skills would be an advantage.

The company is seeking to appoint a Data Analyst to support the organisation’s data related activities to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. The role will conduct full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, develop analysis and reporting capabilities. It will continuously assist the business in monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
In addition to working with business units directly the role will work with the project management office (PMO). The PMO is responsible for managing the digital transformation and business change programme for the company. The Office actively supports and enables the implementation of the company’s strategic change programme which includes complex technical, business systems and change projects and programmes.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to work within a dynamic and rapidly developing area of the company. This role will suit someone with a number of years of experience, who has the ability to work in complex business environments and who easily engages both key stakeholders and customers. The position will appeal to a self-starting, energetic individual who enjoys fresh challenges in an organisation undergoing increased growth and internationalization.
Reporting Relationship
The Data Analyst will report to the ICT Manager and will closely across the business but in particular with the PMO (Project Management Office).

Standard Duties of the Post
• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to the business and management
• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• Support data management requirements for key busy periods including course enrolments, subscription runs and new affiliates
• Develop and audit relevant policies and data management practices that effectively manage the full data life cycle needs of the business

Person Specification
• Relevant third level qualification with proven capability and 3+ years’ experience in a comparable role
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages such as Oracle Discoverer, Jaspersoft, Excel 2013, Microsoft Power BI and databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with sound judgment are required to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals and groups
• Demonstrated capability and sensitivity to manage key business relationships as the role involves a high degree of interaction and collaboration with key stakeholders
• Self-starter with high motivation and the ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve goals within agreed timeframes
