Description: My Dublin based client currently requires an experience Oracle Database Developer to join their existing team in an excellent permanent role.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Development / DBA Duties:
• Ensure that solutions are designed with robustness in mind based on NT’s published standards
• Ensure that new systems are built in a bullet proof way that best ensures that functional requirements are met whilst also ensuring that service qualities (Performance, scalability, extensibility) for the present and for the future are achievable
• Ensures all design and development is agreed within technical committees, and follows SDLC and design concepts


SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 Years Oracle industry experience. Financial services experience would be beneficial.
• Databases: Experience with Oracle (9/10/11) is absolutely essential:
1. Extensive experience creating enterprise level Oracle Stored Procedures and packages.
2. Experience troubleshooting and enhancing existing Oracle Stored Procedures to improve performance.
3. Setting standards and best practice for future work.
4. Consulting with and mentoring other team member to raise the bar overall.
5. The following additional Oracle areas would be advantageous to have a knowledge of: BEPL , Analytics, Streams, WebForms.
6. Knowledge of SQL Server is advantageous, but not essential.
• Languages: While this is primarily an Oracle role, some knowledge of C#.NET, MQ Series, Java would be helpful.
• Operating systems: Exposure to a variety of systems is preferable but not essential.
• The candidate must have excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
• Practical and open minded, able to use own and commercial judgement to balance process against delivery
• Experience in the financial services industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office products Project, Excel, Word, Visio, Powerpoint etc.
• Top quality analytical and problem solving skills
• A proactive and ‘can do’ attitude is required at all times

Description: My client is looking for a COBOL/Stored Procedure Developer who has a background for 5+ years experience in developing and maintaining

Experience / Skills:
Cobol programs. 4+ years experience in developing applications / queries using an Informix database.

4+ years experience in developing and maintaining Informix Store Procedures.

Strong Experience in reading Development Use Cases and applying the required changes to the existing application.

Strong Experience analyzing existing Cobol programs to determine, based on the business requirements, if the program would be more efficient re-written in a stored procedure.

Strong Working in a team environment.A strong Experience successfully completing tasks under a tight deadline.

Degree or Equivalent BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required
