Description: My Cork City based client is currently recruiting for an Development Manager. This is a perm role.

We seeks a senior Development manager to lead a Development Team based on J2EE and Progress 4GL development skills. The candidate must have proven track record of leading a large development team and must have experience managing large complex custody procession of financial systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-The candidate will be reporting to the Production Manager to ensure that timely delivery of projects, execution of the production vision and setting architecture path. The candidate will also responsible to ensure the coding standards and architecture standards are meet and guiding and mentoring the development team on the architecture / product vision.
The candidate will be working with Project Manager(s) to ensure that the project relate development coordination as well as working with BA Team, QA Team, Change Control Board, Operations & Support Team on a day-to-day basis for coordination and administration of development and support activities.
-The candidate must be a good human resource manager. He should be able to manage development team from multiple disciplines as well as developers who are in remote continents.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
•B.S degree major in mathematics or computer science.
•Minimum of 20 years experience in Software Development and at least 10 years of them in the capacity as a Development Manager.
•Minimum of 10 years experience in J2EE Development using IBM Rational Tools (Eclipse, Rational Application Developer etc) and must be have working experience on IBM WAS Application Server
OR
•10 years experience eon Progress 4GL Development using Progress WebSpeed, Application Server and Sonic ESB and 3 years experience in J2EE Development.
•The ideal candidate will have both J2EE and Progress 4GL Development experience.
•Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing development resources from remote locations.
•Must have proven experience on managing large enterprise applications preferably in Financial Industry.
•Must have proven experience on implementing SOA projects as well as migrating and integrating legacy based applications within an SOA infrastructure.
•Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Description: I have two live open Progress Developer Roles open one based in Dublin and another in Cork. The Cork based I am looking for a Progress Consultant for a daily rate 6 month contract and the role in Dublin I am looking for a permanent Porgress Developer
Must have Technical Expectations:
• Minimum 6 years Progress Application development for large enterprise system. Must be proficient in Progress 4GL (version 10), Progress Application Server Programming.
• The candidate must be able to work with minimum supervision as well as working with a team.
• The role involves development and support.

Additional technical expertise
• Minimum 2 years experience with Progress Web Speed Development including use of AJAX.
• Hands on experience with Web Services and Open Java interface would be added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Sonic ESB or Sonic MQ would be added advantage.
• Must have working knowledge of working with XML, XSD and XLT as well as using Stylus Studio.
The person should be self motivated, a self-learner and capable of taking on complex tasks with minimum supervision.
