I have a great financial software company in Dublin City Centre who are looking to hire 2 QA Engineers who are readily available and can hit the ground running testing their software.

Responsibilities

 Production of test deliverables and scripts in accordance with a structured testing total life cycle methodology.
 Execution of test scripts within agreed timescales and standards.
 Accurate recording of test activities and tracking of defects.
 Analysis of expected versus actual results arising from test execution.
 Efficient defect logging, assessment, prioritization and management.
 Enhance the effectiveness of the testing total lifecycle process through identification of process improvements.
 Test all aspects of client applications including new and existing business processes (switches, part surrenders, full surrenders, regular withdrawals, death claims), commission, chargeable events, MI reports, documentation and web

Experience

 Experience of working in a team environment (essential)
 Experience of producing accurate work within tight timescales (essential)
 Experience of using initiative and being proactive (essential)
 Experience of working in the financial services industry
 Experience of working in a structured test environment
 Desirable Test experience to include reviewing test requirements and scripts, executing test scripts, defect tracking/closing, and test planning using guidelines and structured methodologies.

Description: My Dublin City Centre based client currently requires an experienced QA Engineer to join their existing team. The role combines hands on functional testing tasks with additional responsibility for all UI, browser, and back end tools testing.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Hands on functional testing of projects against requirements though the entire project life cycle.
• Ability to deliver high level test schedules, test case, test plans and test data for assigned projects.
• Confident to hold test documentation reviews with project teams and obtain sign off.
• Interested in all aspects of UI testing, browser versions, flash as well as back end tool functions.
• Responsible test case creation, test execution, reporting to QA manager.
• Ability to escalate issues to manager.
• Integrate product knowledge from testers, developers and product managers into the testing process.
• Assist in reporting, investigating and debugging software issues in coordination with support and development.
• Experience in bug management and holding triage meetings.
• Ability to understand business system at architecture\component level and liaise with development teams.
• The candidate must have strong numeracy skills and an understanding of exchange fundamentals.
• The candidate must work well within a process driven environment specifically with attention to detail and actively promote adherence to process.


The Successful Candidate:
• Candidate must have a proven track record in all facets of testing with a technically challenging development environment.
• Self starter and has the ability to learn and understand complex systems quickly.

Key Requirements:
• Degree qualified with a minimum of 4/5 years experience in quality assurance in a financial sector.
• Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgement.
• This candidate will need to be a good team player and have the ability to work autonomously with a minimum of supervision.
• Experience in working with a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills for effective problem solving.
• Being able to work under pressure and tight deadlines is a must.

• To familiarise yourself with business specifications (including examples, workflows, etc) relating to a proposed system/module.
• To familiarise yourself with technical specifications relating to a proposed system/module and to prepare test plans based on these specifications.
• To execute extensive tests and to work closely with the development team.
• To perform bug- tracking and allocation of problems to developers; to ensure the follow up of fixes with developers.

• Testing installation of Servers
• Regression, Integration, Load, Sanity testing
• Bug management using Test Track Pro
• Validating final draft of Servers to be released

The successful candidate will ideally have the following experience:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in software quality assurance/testing with excellent knowledge of testing methodologies.
