Execution of test scripts within agreed timescales and standards.
Accurate recording of test activities and tracking of defects.
Analysis of expected versus actual results arising from test execution.
Efficient defect logging, assessment, prioritization and management.
Enhance the effectiveness of the testing total lifecycle process through identification of process improvements.
Test all aspects of client applications including new and existing business processes (switches, part surrenders, full surrenders, regular withdrawals, death claims), commission, chargeable events, MI reports, documentation and web
Any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time by the lead test analyst.
Flexibility supporting go live implementations if required.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
Ability to generate ideas to improve team performance.
Ability to learn and understand testing processes techniques and methodology within a short space of time.
EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in the financial services industry
Experience of working in a team environment (essential)
Experience of working in a structured test environment
Desirable Test experience to include reviewing test requirements and scripts, executing test scripts, defect tracking/closing, and test planning using guidelines and structured methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in a Data warehouse QA role or similar, Teradata experience is a distinct advantage.
The Job:
This individual will work in a new project to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet the companies reporting and BI requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. They will participate in the establishment of a process and procedures for verification and reconciliation and quality assurance of new data input to and output from this environment. In addition they will be instrumental in the implementation of automated testing scripts to assist in the efficient management of regression testing
As our QA Engineer, you will:
* Provide Data Warehouse Based Testing
* Build, maintain, and extend regression and automation test suites & strategy.
* Be Responsible for the developing planning, execution, scheduling, and reporting of test suites
* Participate as a team member in testing, analysis, process management to identify and communicate risks.
* Respond to dynamic situations while maintaining adherence to best principals
* Build alliances with business owners, product owners, developers, and operations
* Recommend solutions to technical issues and participate in architecting solutions
* Create black and white box automated tests as appropriate
* Drive continuous improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness
* Serve as a resource in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from conception, design, implementation and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance
* Accomplish aggressive goals and meet strict deadlines
Your qualifications should include:
* 2 years in software QA, development, or configuration management
* 2 years as part of a highly collaborative team of software and quality assurance engineers, product owners and the business owners
* 3 years of IT/IS experience
* Demonstratable knowledge of and hands-on experience with SQL and or SSIS would be desirable
* Strong experience with testing/debugging Data Warehouse and BI
* Strong understanding and experience with RDBMS systems such as Teradata, Oracle or Sybase

Tester Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will be working on-site with existing Java development team, and will be responsible for post development testing of one of our key customers web based applications. This holds vital information of critical importance to their business.
Key Responsibilities:
The definition and preparation of Test Data
Creation of Test Plans, scheduling Tests and production of Test Scripts
Test execution
Technical testing of web services and batch files (input and output)
Quality Assurance of software deliverables
Ensure all deliverables are on schedule
Liaison with our customers and the development team in the test phases
Control of documentation / test plans
Providing feedback to the Team Leader on progress and issues arising on a daily basis
Acting as a central point of contact between user Software Testers and development team including guidance on user testing methods
Key Requirements:
A senior tester with 4-5+ years test experience, gained across multiple projects and environments
The ideal candidate will have experience in the development of test methodologies and infrastructure in a J2EE environment
Strong manual testing skills (regression, functional UAT etc)
Experience in testing web services, creating and updating XML files
Hands on experience in batch file testing
Use of Test Management Tools
Solid experience using SQL databases to find and create test data, where necessary
Clear understanding of the software development lifecycle
Prior experience using Source control using Microsoft VSS or / and SubVersion
Other attributes
Good leadership skills with a strong approach to defining and establishing quality test processes

Description: My Dublin City Centre based client currently requires an experienced Test Analyst to join their existing team in a 1-2 year fixed term contract role.
UAT Test Analyst Key Aspects of the Role:
My client has an immediate contract requirement for an experienced professional who has worked in the role of Test Analyst with particular emphasis in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The successful candidate will be involved in test planning, test implementation, and test reporting for a number of web based applications that support the Business.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in the quality assurance of key systems currently being developed including a Portfolio Management System (PMS), a Document Management System (DMS) and a Geographic Information System (GIS). Some integration of these products has already taken place and it is anticipated that further integration will be carried out. Future phases of the project will look at the use of bio-metric authentication, the use of digital signatures and the delivery of corporate wide Management Information (MI) platform.
Applications under development are based on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle data warehouse technologies, .NET web application interfaces and integrate with other systems such as Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Exchange.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate should have proven track record in a technically challenging development environment. Experienced in full life cycle of software development; including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of each step. Strong analytical skills for effective problem solving. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgment. The candidate will need to be a good team player, but will also be able to work autonomously with a minimum of supervision. Being able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is a must.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide input to the Test Strategy and Test Plan documents.
Develop comprehensive user acceptance test plans for each release of the systems working to a multi-release plan throughout the year
Define user acceptance test cases that cover all business requirements within the agreed scope for each release.
Carry out testing activities related to projects ensuring all deliverables and releases are to agreed specification and high quality.
Retain strong control on the bug management process including:,
Being clear in describing the bugs and conditions under which they were identified;
Raising and prioritizing bugs using industry standard bug-tracking tools;
Work with other team members to investigate and resolve bugs;
Carry out appropriate re-testing of bugs;
Carry out regression testing following each release;
Participation at bug wash up meetings
Produce progress reports for the testing function when requested.
Ensure the regression test suite is kept up to date, in accordance with agreed functionality.
Carry out pre-testing activities such as environment set-up, data preparation and data loading
Identify/define how testing will be conducted.
Prepare and document any requirements for the test environment in advance of each test cycle.
Support the Business Users for the final business acceptance test stage of the test cycle.
Help develop the QA team by continually improving testing processes.
Contribute to projects being on schedule and meeting business users needs.
Qualifications / Skills / Attributes Required:
Applicants must have at least 5 years experience as a Test Analyst
A degree in Computing or Engineering or equivalent.
A background in financial systems is desirable.
Successful candidates may also have:
Experience in the project development life-cycle.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of operating in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Experience at interacting successfully with technical and business resources.
The ability to work in a team and as an individual.
The ability to work under pressure and to very tight deadlines.
Experience of some or all of the technologies upon which the companys applications are based.
Use of industry standard software testing and defect tracking tools would be an advantage, e.g. SQL Server, Bugzilla, Microsoft Test Manager
Exposure to Industry Standards for IT & software processes.
Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint in the context of document management.
