The company operates a mission-critical, enterprise class mainframe infrastructure built on IBM z196 and zBX technologies. The environment is configured in a dual-site, sysplex enabled environment supported by the latest WAN and SAN network technologies. The transaction systems function is supported on IMS, CICS and WAS sub-systems. Connectivity and messaging use TCP/IP and Websphere Message Queuing. The DB2 database is configured for data-sharing. The Security technology includes RACF supported by zSecure Administrative/ Auditing and Alerting tools.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Role Description

Responsible for the provision of specialist technical expertise in Mainframe Security. Providing support and expertise from Security Strategy/Design through to Implementation and ongoing support. Participate in investigation and resolution of incidents and problems relating to the department. Lead and participate in Security projects and strategic planning. Provide authoritative advice and guidance on the application and operation of security controls within the Mainframe environment.
Requirements
• Strong Security mindset and a Mainframe technical security expert.
• Knowledge of Security standards plus experience and ability to apply these standards in a Mainframe environment.
• Evaluate new security technologies that can be exploited and implement within the Service guidelines.
• Design robust Security Architecture that meet business requirements.
• Continual assessment of the Mainframe security and identify and implement improvements.
• Evaluate and Implement Software/Application Security
• In depth knowledge of multiple security products (ie: RACF, zSecure)
• Knowledge of System support products - IMS, DB2, OMEGAMON, CICS, Websphere MQ, Websphere application Server
• Ensure the appropriate features and functions of RACF and the associated mainframe security products are properly designed and implemented to enable integration and effective use by all system software, hardware and administrators.
• Identify, implement and support software and hardware upgrades.
• Define Security standards, policies and processes, document and ensure continual adherence.
• Document RACF based technical security controls and structures to underpin the Security policies.
• Regularly review compliance againsts standards and implement resolutions.
• Support and mentor colleagues
• Management of relationships with third party suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5 years minimum experience in Mainframe Security
• Certification preferably in CISSP, CISA, SSCP or CISM.
• REXX/ CARLa language
• Project Management

Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree
