Main Duties
A senior team member working with business teams to understand business needs and gather requirements for effective IT solutions.

Responsible for the design, testing and support of software changes to applications to address business needs. This role will include project management, business analysis, creation of specifications and testing. This role may also assume additional responsibility for other applications and future systems integration work.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with various business teams to gather requirements and resolve different business issues.
• Develop a Subject Matter expertise of the day to day business operations.
• Defines, plans, organizes, tracks and manages the project oversight to meet defined requirements or business specifications
• Understand the specific business problem that software aims to solve.
• Conduct user training as part of the deployment.
• Project manages operational projects.
• Document new business requirements and technical specifications.
• Create, document, and implement test plans and scripts.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Perform user administration.
• Coordinate software deployment with other IT functions and business users.
• Develop solid understanding of business processes.

Accountabilities

• Collects business requirements for the project and translates them into functional specifications and detailed test plans
• Hands on project management of several projects with limited dependencies; work planning, risk management, issues reporting.
• Leads requirements gathering sessions with the business teams
• Defines test conditions and test cycles for testing.
• Completes change requests on time and provides support to technology team during development
• Provides input and support to training development process
• Conducts integration testing and documents and resolves issues
• Gains formal acceptance of solution at the end of User Acceptance Test

Profile of Candidate

• Experience with entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management experience, managing project plans, scope, issues/risks
• Ability to resolve issues in a timely fashion
• Ability to communicate with project stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong, demonstrable level of influencing and negotiating skills, both with Business users and Development/Solutions teams on and off-site
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Formal project management qualification desirable(e.g PMP, Prince2)
• Minimum 5+ years experience in a Business Systems Analyst role.


Remuneration Package:

Purpose:
To provide a comprehensive range of analytical services to deliver business solutions which will meet project objectives as outlined in the business case.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business requirements captured and prioritised to meet both business and IT requirements and which provides all parties with a clear understanding of the approach to the business solution.
- Required to multi-task to support multiple projects as business needs dictate.
- Business requirements estimated and analysis and/or appropriate business testing tasks planned from start to finish with appropriate contingencies built in to ensure that budget for project remains within given constraints.
- Works with the business to create a signed off set of business requirements through critically evaluating and reconciling information gathered through a variety of methods. - Support the Test Analyst/Manager to ensure that the project test strategy is created and implemented including testing approach, environment spec, estimates, criteria and scripts, risk assessments and recommendation on methodologies and tools.
- Business impact assessments carried out to determine how changes from the current to future processes and structures will affect business units and roles.
- Relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers developed to analyse information needs and functional requirements.
- Collaborates with IT teams across International (analysts, developers and testers) and subject matter experts to establish a technical vision and analyse trade offs between usability and performance needs and to ensure a smooth hand off of requirements into development.
- Works with the business, project/programme manager and IT delivery team to ensure the business processes/systems/functionality that are implemented, are fit for purpose.
- Liaise with and support the Test Analyst/Manager to ensure the execution of testing and defects lead to successful sign off, ensuring the delivered system is fit for purpose.
- Prepare post implementation handover to the business and support training and post implementation activities including assistance with business readiness implementation, where required.
Role holders are expected to:
-Work on medium and large scale projects.
- Projects/programmes will often be complex and high profile with medium risk.
- Work with stakeholders up to director level.
- Support other analysts and may be required to mentor and coach less experienced analysts.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
- Strong/developed level of Business Analyst experience within Financial Services.
- Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with internal staff and stakeholders up to and including senior management. Role holders must also have a proven ability to work with senior stakeholders up to director level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant experience of advising and influencing managers, up to and including senior managers.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines and under pressure (up to director level for more senior role holders).
- Knowledge in applying proven methodologies, standards and tools involved in business analysis and testing.
- Experience of the development life cycle and project management disciplines.
- Role holders must be able to demonstrate a strong track record in contributing to large scale/complex change projects.
- Have worked alongside other professional business analysts, project managers, IT professionals and other change management experts on major change projects.
- Experience of working on IT projects, as well as not IT projects.
-Have had sole responsibility for the delivery of business cases, requirements documents and other typical BA outputs.
- Continual development as a Business Analyst though formal training courses, self study, and on the job training. You can plot your development progress through work examples.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Business Analyst role.
Desirable
- ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent.
- ISEB Test practitioner qualified.
