Description: My Dublin City Centre based client currently requires an experienced Network Engineer to join their existing team.

Responsibilities/Skills

• Administration and support of an enterprise network infrastructure
• Substantial experience working in IT level network infrastructure or data center support
• Administration of Cisco switches and routers and F5 load balancers
• In-depth knowledge of networking and routing and switching protocols, and a solid understanding of change management principles
• Administration of CheckPoint and Cisco ASA Firewalls
• Network security including Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint firewall, Juniper.
• Substantial experience working with Site to Site and Remote Access VPNs
• Network Management, Monitoring, Troubleshooting, SNMP.
• QOS, IPS
• Network documentation and diagrams
• Experience and flexibility in handling on-call responsibilities


Other
• 4+ Year Experioence in the above.
• Network certifications such as CCNA/CCNA Security/CCNP/ CCSP or equivalent experience are preferred.
• Experience in ISA and proxy security

Network monitoring and network management are *essential* skills for this role.





The Network Support Engineer works within the Network Management team in the IT Department and is responsible for supporting the WAN Infrastructure, Branch office infrastructure and Data Centre Network infrastructure, including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Wan Accelerators, Wireless controllers, remote access appliances, telephony systems, monitoring and management appliances and platforms.



Responsibilities

• Supporting the current network and telephony solutions and service offerings.
• Providing technical support to the operations, server and application teams.
• Delivering and supporting network infrastructure projects
• Creating standard documentation, from physical and logical architecture diagrams to process and procedures.
• Monitoring is a key part of this role
• Providing good solid support to current IT groups and the business itself.
• Ad hoc related tasks upon request.




Experience

• At least 3-4 years experience in a network support role, with ideally 1-2 years desktop support experience.
• A diploma or degree in Computer science or equivalent credentials.
• A proven track record of delivering and supporting network infrastructure projects.
• An excellent working knowledge of networking technologies and protocols including routing, switching, firewalls, IDS/IPS, wireless, load balancers.




Salary for this role is negotiable – but I can pay circa 40-50k

The successful person will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the WAN Infrastructure, Branch office infrastructure and Data Centre Network infrastructure, including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Wan Accelerators, Wireless controllers, remote access appliances, telephony systems, monitoring and management appliances and platforms.

Responsibilities
Designing, implementing and supporting network and telephony solutions and service offerings.

Providing technical support to the operations, server and application teams.

Delivering and supporting network infrastructure solutions through the full project lifecycle, from discussion to design and from implementation to support.
 Creating standard documentation, from physical and logical architecture diagrams to process and procedures.

Experience
At least 8 years experience in a network infrastructure engineering role.
 An excellent working knowledge of networking technologies and protocols including routing, switching, firewalls, IDS/IPS, wireless, load balancers MPLS, BGP, OSPF, WCCP..



Salary for this role is negotiable – but I can pay circa 60-70k
