The successful applicant will manage a small team of 4 with responsibility for the operations of the data centres, SAN, servers, VMware, Windows OS and backups.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with the latest server and storage technologies;
Responsibilities include:
Manage day-to-day systems administration tasks
Meet operational objectives for availability, performance and security
Act as technical lead for assigned technologies
Resolve support issues in line with agreed SLAs
Develop metrics and KPIs to track and report team performance
Oversee Change Management process
Manage imaging, patching, and vulnerability management processes
Maintain inventory and configuration management systems
Manage primary and regional Data Centres
Experience Required in all 3

Job Scope:
The individual will primarily responsible for storage provisioning, storage network management and systems backup provisioning for many diverse application systems and operating systems. The individual will be engaged in an EMC, Brocade, McData, Symantec and Sun StorageTEK environment and the use of SYMcli & EMC Control Center as a DMX administration tool. There will be core involvement in daily administration functions such as incident management, change management and problem resolution. This will encompass implementation of best practices around administration, reporting and monitoring of the SAN and Backup infrastructure. Some basic support of the ILM function will also be required in terms of the archiving strategy of the team. There may also be a requirement to contribute to ongoing architectural designs for the enterprise storage solutions.
Key Skills:
Possess 3 years plus of progressive experience of working in complex SAN environments with multiple UNIX/Windows hosts and DMX/Clariion/Centera/EVA arrays. Familiarity with system backup strategies utilising tape or magnetic disk technologies would be an advantage.
Demonstrate excellent judgement skills in order to make successful decisions in deal with complex situations.
Demonstrate well developed troubleshooting skills for incident and problem management.
Demonstrate strong initiative and willingness to achieve results through change.
Have an ability to develop and manage system documentation including standard operating procedures and routine status reports.
Have an ability to support multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
Additional Desired Skills:
Familiarity with various high availability and disaster recovery techniques.
Assist in processes involving change management, vendor management, problem escalation and project management.
Ability to provide 7x24x365 support using pager, cell phone and remote access tools.
Written and oral communications should meet company guidelines for compliance and professionalism.

Academic Qualifications:
