Description: Senior Integration Engineer
One of Ireland's leading Financial clients in Dublin City Centre is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer. The client offers an excellent career and work life balance, plus one of the best benefits packages in Ireland.
Experience and Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in Computer Science or other technical field, or equivalent.
5 or more years' experience in designing, implementing, supporting application development and release processes/tools.
Minimum of 5 year's Linux administration background, comfortable with all aspects of this role including improving and extending Linux server builds, scripting and general system maintenance
Exceptional knowledge of Unix Shell scripting (Bash, KSH) and MS Powershell, and at least one development language (Perl, Python, C#, Java, Ruby)
Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
In-depth experience with Enterprise Scheduling tools (e.g. Dollar Universe, Control-M)
Strong knowledge of designing, configuring and extending IT monitoring platforms (e.g. Xymon, Nagios, Graphite or similar)
Expert knowledge of development technologies including source code (Subversion/Git) and Continuous Integration technologies (Jenkins, Hudson or similar)
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Strong technical writing and cross-training skills. Assist in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems and applications.
Knowledge of SOA/J2EE (e.g. TIBCO and JBOSS) application platforms
Strong SQL development skills particularly PL/SQL (Oracle) and TSQL (MSSQL)
While not required, we prefer candidates with as much of the following experience as possible:
Experience working within the Financial industry
Experience working with IAAS, PAAS platforms (e.g. MS Azure, AWS or similar)
Experience working with and extending Application Release Automation tools (e.g. Xebialabs XL-Release/XL-Deploy, IBM UrbanCode or similar)
Proven knowledge of supporting RDBMS platforms including MS SQL Server (including SSIS and SSRS), Oracle and Teradata.
Experience with Middleware/ETL technologies such as IBM Websphere MQ/IBM Infosphere Datastage.
Knowledge of developing modern web (REST, AJAX) enabled frontends utilising frameworks such as JQuery, Node.js, AngularJS
Experience with log aggregation technology stacks such as Splunk or ELK
Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies and practices
Experience with Dot Net technologies (IIS/ASP.NET)

Description: My Dublin based financial client currently requires a hands-on Application Support Analyst to be responsible for providing second level support.


 Provide 2nd line support to the business. Weekend Support is required and is scheduled on a rotational basis.
 Provide mission critical response to daily issues through in-depth investigation and problem solving techniques.
 Issue management, liaising with the required development and 3rd level support teams globally.
 Effectively communicate and escalate issues between the business and team members in order to ensure proper handling of issues is provided.
 Incorporate personal knowledge in the development of support tools and efficiencies that will be used by the team for daily or specific events.
 Liaison between development and business teams to improve the quality of the system and its applications.
 Ensure that my client’s applications are available and supported in line with the defined system service level agreement.
 Execute and escalate problem management procedure as necessary.
 Record and document accurately and in a timely manner support activities, which should include support tasks and outages. This information will be used to assist in identifying areas for investing in improvement initiatives.
 Provide in depth analysis of queries raised by the business, ranging from disbursement issues through to detailed analysis of reporting issues.
 Identify reoccurring issues and resolve accordingly.
 Support stability initiatives and work to achieve corporate and Global Production Support goals.


• Minimum of 5 years of Application Support/Development experience, of which a minimum of 3-4 years are in Support

• UNIX - commands and Shell/Perl scripting knowledge (Essential)
• Oracle database and MS SQL Server knowledge including SQL, PL/SQL (Essential)
• WebLogic (Essential)
• IBM MQ Series (Essential)
• Ability to look at and understand XML file formats (Essential)
• .Net (Desirable)

• Degree level in an IT oriented subject is advantageous.

• Candidate must be reliable, consistent, self-starter, to work with minimum supervision
• The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), in order to build the relationship with, and the confidence of, business users and technology teams at various levels in a global environment.
• Given that the system supports time critical user needs, the candidate must be able to operate under time pressure
• Good Time management and analytical skills are required.
• Good planning is important in the role
