Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, specification and development of Java based business applications. The successful applicant will have significant experience of the full software development lifecycle from specification to delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Working within the existing team define the SW architecture and design for the next generation of the front office policy administration system.
• Develops high quality software that is fit for purpose and conforms to coding standards for performance and security.
• Creates technical specifications and development timelines/estimates as part of an iterative development cycle using the best practices from Scrum.
• Delivering all development iterations on time and to quality.
• Provides production support on an as needed basis on request of the Operations manager
• As access to production systems for the purpose of providing application support is part of this role you will be required to be fully conversant and compliant with all data management and information security policies.

Your Profile:
• A degree in computer science from a recognised University or Technical College
• Excellent command of Java , J2EE and related development tools. You will have a minimum of 5 years professional experience with at least the last 2 years in a lead role of consequence.
• Strong database development skills and experience including logical design and SQL programming
• Experienced in delivery of solutions utilising J2EE, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services using service frameworks such as Axis/CXF.
• Experienced in deployment to JBOSS application servers and associated environments
• Experience in best practice unit test development and continuous integration.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Proven analytic and problem solving abilities.

Looking for candidate with in-depth experience with enterprise reporting, analytics/OLAP or business intelligence using Jaspersoft BI product suite. Must be able to write functional and technical design specifications and implement solutions in J2EE and develop automated unit tests.
