The following are the key experience and skills required:
•3 years+ of relevant experience in designing and developing databases and reports in an enterprise data warehousing environment
•4 years+ relational database design and implementation experience.
•Proven experience of building relational data warehouses and Analysis cubes
•3 years+ experience of Microsoft Business Intelligence technology stack (2005 and/or 2008), specifically SSIS and SSRS
•3 Years+ using SSIS for ETL purposes ideally Warehousing and Migration experience
•In depth knowledge of T-SQL

•Experience of Kimball methodology

•Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, dimensional, relational and OLAP data modelling

•Experience writing SQL statements and optimizing query performance.

•Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.

•Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills

•Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities required:
Reporting to the Solution Architect, the primary responsibility of the role will be to develop and support ongoing changes to the consolidated data reporting/warehouse systems for the Group.
The role will also include:
•Design, Developing and Implementing reporting solutions using SSRS/SSAS in line with best practices and standards
•Supporting the business BI systems
•Training 'Super Users' to enable the Business to create their own BI adhoc reporting
•Liaising with the Business and Project Teams to understand and translate data requirements to technical specifications
•Performing Data Analysis to establish system or project data issues or gaps
•Ensuring software is well documented and up to date
•Ensuring knowledge transfer within the BI team is comprehensive

Key tasks & responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of the technical elements of the BI projects they are responsible for.

Manage the design and build of complete BI solutions to agreed standards.

Provide a strategic input in defining and reviewing the BI coding standards. This should include specific reference to industry standards and technologies (Inmon, Kimball and COGNOS)

· Ensure all relevant documentation is available and implement a regime of review to ensure compliance.

· Define and set up a team to support the BI production systems

· Investigation of new BI technology and provide recommendations on how to incorporate this into the BI strategy.

· Contribute towards the overall BI strategy.

· Implement a process to manage BI issues and escalation

· Provide development estimates for proposed BI projects

· Work closely with the project managers and assume responsibility for the BI technical deliverables of a project.

· Provide team management, mentoring and leadership.

· Have the Ability to deliver to agreed deadlines and work under pressure

· Take the main role in the design, construction and delivery of a BI solution.

· Has a number of years experience in managing teams

· Has 5+ years experience in architecting BI solutions.

· Have worked in the banking and/or financial sectors for a number of years

· Have a proven track record of on time delivery

· Have a good understanding of the project life cycle / process



Technical Skills:

· Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL 2000/2005

· Expert knowledge of Microsoft SSIS, SSAS (2005 )

· Expert knowledge of warehouse design and Inmon and Kimball principals

· Excellent knowledge of COGNOS Data and Framework manager tools

· 5+ years delivering Microsoft SSAS and COGNOS (version 8 and above) solutions
