Description: My Dublin based Financial Services client currently requires an experienced Senior reporting Analyst to join their existing team to expanding its data analytics and performance.
The team are expanding their reporting activities with particular focus on measuring effectiveness of strategy implementation and operational capability. This team provides insights to, and understanding of, current and historic performance across a range of mortgage arrears management activities. The successful candidate will assist in the development, maintenance and distribution of information & reports to a large and diverse audience. Using the latest Business Intelligence and Database technologies and applications, the role requires a strong focus on providing timely and accurate reporting to a demanding customer base.
Responsibilities:
• Provide key insights into customer segmentation to help form strategies and customer campaigns through the use of data analytics. Help design & develop new data and reporting processes to support campaign formulation and campaign effectiveness.
• Produce a timely, accurate and comprehensive MI reporting suite, and supplementary analysis to provide insights on key metrics and respond to subsequent actions for further investigation.
• Respond to regular and ad hoc requests for analytics from stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Resolve business issues using data analysis and present back meaningful and actionable information to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to new Business Analysis projects as they arise.
• Very strong Business/Systems Analyst skills with experience in relational databases, with an advanced proficiency SQL.
• At least 3 years Business Analysis experience working with proven ability to deliver high quality reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deliver and achieve results within demanding timescales.

Desirables:
• The ability to translate business issues into the appropriate analysis and then communicate the results of that analysis back to the business.
• Experience in campaign execution or customer segmentation.
• SAS or SQL Server experience (SSIS & SSRS) would be a distinct advantage.
• Credit, finance or risk reporting experience.
• Developed presentation skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines across the business and credit management functions.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and tools.

Role
This is the ideal role for an IT support professional with experience of using SQL Server seeking a new challenge. The ideal candidate will have had experience in both a technical and business environment.
Job Description
The position is primarily focused in the day-to-day administrative and operational tasks of managing and supporting a large, transaction-intensive database environment.
You will be responsible for monitoring of SQL Agent Jobs and be able to troubleshoot / resolve problems before they are reported by clients.
Experience of SSRS and SSIS technology is essential in order to provide support to core applications
Responsibilities for the Sql Server Support Engineer include:
Documentation of issues based on priorities and follow up with actions for long term solution
Ensuring data availability and quality for dashboard reporting
Having the ability to write and amend reports where required
Update and create subscriptions where required
Update and create SSIS packages where required.
Proactively identify potential issues and risks and work with relevant parties to resolve them, or escalate them to the IT management team.
The candidate will work collaboratively with clients & other departments including finance, marketing, operations and other members of the support team to provide resolutions to reported problems.
Skills Required for the Sql Server Support Engineer :
2-4 years minimum SQL Server experience.
Strong analytical, technical and statistical skills.
Experience of incident and documentation management.
Sound debugging and problem solving skills
Technical skills/knowledge with experience on SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2012) , Reporting Services, SSIS Packages, SQL Agent Jobs, Stored Procedures etc.
Good understanding of database architecture required.
Ability to interact with all business levels (horizontal and vertical).
Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, to organize and prioritize work schedules.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

The successful candidate will be confident in dealing with technical and business subject matter experts and will possess the appropriate level of technical knowledge, experience and qualifications necessary to fulfil the role.


Core Technical Skills:

The successful candidate will demonstrate at least 3 of the following 4 core skills

• 3+ years report design & development experience in an enterprise data warehousing environment (SSRS)
• 3+ years Microsoft Business Intelligence technology (SSIS) experience
• 5+ years MS SQL development experience (T-SQL)
• 3+ years software development experience (C# & ASP.NET, Windows Forms) – not essential

Experience:

• Experience within the financial services sector would be beneficial, but it is not a prerequisite
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing, dimensional, relational data modelling
• Knowledge of modern development techniques such as .NET MVC, Entity Framework
• Familiarity with Javascript frameworks, in particular JQuery

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Maintenance of business critical, bespoke software applications, data warehouses and reporting suite by designing, developing and implementing small changes in line with best practices and standards
• The development of applications to facilitate the run off of the business.

Other
• Experience in Change Management as part of the SDLC, e.g. Manage UAT, Coordinate upgrades and patches with the user population, ensure all relevant sign-offs in place from a compliance perspective.
• In Depth Knowledge of the BI/EDW and ETL Development Lifecycle
• Experience/understanding of SOX would be viewed favourably.
• Experience in writing, reviewing & optimizing Functional Specifications
• Experience in managing applications as part of an integrated platform
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues
• Thinks and plans strategically with an energetic and positive mind set with a desire for excellence and implementing necessary change
