QA Team Lead Job Description:
• Developing and agreeing test plans with professional services and development teams.
• Writing test cases in Quality Centre, which support the test plan and identify specifically what is being tested.
• Carrying out tests as specified in the test case documentation and documenting the test results.
• Logging issues on Quality Centre, reporting the issue to the developers and following it up to ensure that corrective action is taken.
• Re-testing bugs to confirm that they have been corrected.
• Reporting issues to management where these could have an impact on a major deadline.
• Gaining knowledge of the credit card acquiring business and a competence with OmniPay systems to enable the support of other groups within the organisation.
• Interaction with other team members and management to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
• Adhere to and contribute to OmniPay processes and procedures.

The Job:
Involves testing new software developments ensuring delivery of the functionality according to the business requirements.
Reporting to the Testing Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to:
 Understand the purpose and requirements of new system developments.
 Develop a suitable test strategy for each development.
 Contribute to overall project plans.
 Translate the business requirements into the creation of appropriate test plans.

 Adhere to standards and procedures.

The Person:

Role Overview
Based in Dublin, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and executing the test of the core insurance business systems including both front office (web ) and back office (desktop) applications. The successful applicant will have significant experience of the full software development lifecycle with a strong focus on QA methods and operation. The chosen candidate will find this role busy, challenging and rewarding.

Responsibilities:
• Contributes to test cycles planning.
• Design and maintenance of test plans, test scripts, test cases and data.
• Co-ordinates own test activities across IT teams to ensure the smooth running of test cycles (integration, system, cross browser, regression, deployment).
• Liaises with development leads to ensure resolution of system defects.
• Communication with end users , QA Team Lead and external partners regarding projects and issues
• Co-ordinates User Acceptance Testing, provides user training and release support as needed.
• Production of test progress status and reports

Your Profile
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a software tester with proven experience in defining test plans and executing QA cycles.
• Experience in functional testing of transactional business applications a must, insurance or financial services industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of software product development and QA lifecycles
• A track record of successful project completion working in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task and test different applications necessary for a release with a proven ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines
• Proven analytic and problem solving abilities.
• An enthusiasm for software development and QA methods, ISTB Accreditation an advantage.
• Experience in Agile Methodologies, particularly Scrum an advantage.

My Dublin based Financial Services client who are just based off the M50 are currently recruiting for a QA Systems Tester to join their existing.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

The QA Systems Tester is responsible for supporting quality standards in the development of systems solutions. In partnership with Application Development staff, Quality Assurance professionals will participate in the planning, creation and execution of testing activities (including acceptance and regression).

QA Systems Tester have an understanding of applicable programming languages, testing tools and systems life cycle testing. Excellent oral and written communications are an essential element of the role, with an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
• Provides support for multiple QA activities. Is self managed to react to and provide support to both IT and business teams.
• Support the use of quality assurance programs, including: best practices/methodologies, QA and end-to-end testing or tool selection, automation and use.
• Delivers business documents related to quality assurance programs that could include best practices, testing or tool support.
• Ensures appropriate test environment exists for testing work.
• As part of the quality assurance team, promotes automated tool use where appropriate.
• Initiates quality assurance approaches, including new and improved testing processes.


Skills & Experience:
Non-Technical
