The Performance Test Engineer will focus on leading and developing sophisticated tests that enable Test Consultants to perform the most complex load simulations to expose bottlenecks and accurately analyse the results to help ensure the service is fast and secure.
This Performance Engineer will utilise and contribute to sophisticated automation frameworks and software tools written in Java and other languages.
The Performance Engineer must demonstrate the ability to understand novel system architectures, pinpoint problem areas, demonstrate the ability to analyse data for bottlenecks, and develop succinct test scenarios across multiple hardware and software tiers.
Lead development teams in implementing performance optimisations during planning and early design phases
Architect and build the next generation performance tools to help the performance team be more efficient at performance engineering
Keep the performance team abreast of latest industry trends and advancements that can benefit the team
Understand usage workflows to construct efficient performance tests
Analyse performance results to identify bottlenecks and optimisations
Construct complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks
Innovate solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness
Review developer code and technical applications to tune for optimal performance
Look for ways to improve user experience as well as system scalability
Conduct technical presentations to educate teams on how to improve performance
Analyse metrics and trends to highlight performance opportunities for improvements
Proven experience successfully leading a team through all phases of a project from start to finish
Java and SQL performance tuning experience that includes garbage collection, heap management, JVM configuration, explain plan, query optimisation, optimiser hints, etc.
Strong experience identifying bottlenecks across various layers of web application stacks (client, network, java containers, oracle backend)
Excellent ability to partner with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems
Expert ability to dissect large amounts of data and identify potential issues then disseminate the information to teammates to allow them to learn and grow in performance engineering
Excellent skills in summarising large amount of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.

The role requires someone who demonstrates an appropriate level of skill and expertise in test planning, execution, estimation and automation of the QA cycle.
The primary function is the planning of QA phases, and leading of 2 or more QA resources through of QA cycles.
Responsibilities will include interpreting functional specifications, planning test cycles, ensuring cycles are executed to agreed timelines, efficient use of automated testing and that releases are signed off for release.
Responsible for management of all Quality Assurance functions include planning, strategy, testing execution and tools.
Works with the Project Manager and other technical leaders to establish time tables and agree on a Quality Assurance plan
Ensure that QA process is documented and communicated and adequate to ensure agreed quality levels for the application.
Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements, working with the project Business Analyst to ensure all requirements are tested.
Work with Testing Coordinator to ensure testing of functional areas is complete, tracked and on-schedule.
Coordinates performance testing and ensures that performance standards are communicated and documented.
Oversees determination of need, selection and implementation, and maintenance of QA tools.
Minimum 6 years QA and software testing experience
Experience of performing a QA lead function for a product organisation
Testing of systems developed in.NET, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Oracle is essential
Experience with automated tools, performance profiling and stress testing tools essential
Experience with bug and issue management tools
Experience managing QA resources
Financial services business processes an advantage

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
The Test Lead will have complete ownership and responsibility for testing of the test phases below :
Business Process & Procedure Testing
Data Migration Business relevance and appropriateness
Rating Validation Testing
End to End process and procedure testing
Fit for purpose usability testing
Regression Business focus
Cut-over and Deployment Operational acceptance Testing
This will include test planning and execution, including estimation of test effort & resources required to complete test cycles in line with project plan.
Escalate risks and issues to the appropriate level to ensure resolution.
Management of business resource required for test
Management of the test environment
Provide best-in-class QA execution based on clearly defined standards and quality measurement.
Relationship building with key business stakeholders both within the project team and other external teams such as IT, PMO and other functional areas.
Management of Business Test Team across multiple locations:
Main responsible and point for all Business test activities within the programme.
Working with the IT Test teams, schedule and accept code releases for business testing in line with the overall test strategy and plan.
Appropriate allocation of testing tasks to business test co-ordinators and testers in line with company priorities as defined by the programme test plan.
Promote the message of Quality across business test team.
Responsibility for team objective setting, resource deployment planning, staff selection, training and performance monitoring.
Provide support and direction to test team.
Encourage and enable team development.
Lead employee engagement initiatives for own area.
Previous experience managing Business Test (Model Office) functions on large scale projects.
Experience of reviewing test cases, test case preparations, estimation, planning, reporting, supporting business users during UAT, defect management.
You should have previous experience using Quality Centre or a similar test management tool.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to rapidly triage complex business & technical issues, making important decisions as and when required.
Experience of agile development methodologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Project Management & Business Process methodologies.
Aptitude for Information Technology.

This individual will work in a new project to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet the companies reporting and BI requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. They will participate in the establishment of a process and procedures for verification and reconciliation and quality assurance of new data input to and output from this environment. In addition they will be instrumental in the implementation of automated testing scripts to assist in the efficient management of regression testing
As our QA Engineer, you will:
* Provide Data Warehouse Based Testing
* Build, maintain, and extend regression and automation test suites & strategy.
* Be Responsible for the developing planning, execution, scheduling, and reporting of test suites
* Participate as a team member in testing, analysis, process management to identify and communicate risks.
* Respond to dynamic situations while maintaining adherence to best principals
* Build alliances with business owners, product owners, developers, and operations
* Recommend solutions to technical issues and participate in architecting solutions
* Create black and white box automated tests as appropriate
* Drive continuous improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness

Your qualifications should include:
