Background
• Degree educated, preferably Computer Science BSc or equivalent AND
• 2-4 years experience in software test automation OR

• Experience in the automation of testing front-end web applications and testing back-end web services
• Experience with manual testing
• Experience with test automation tools, particularly Selenium
• Working knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Ruby, Python, Groovy)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Description: Excellent Internet company is seeking a QA Engineer for their Dublin office to assist the current team with the testing of their product suite which is developed mainly in Java/ J2EE technologies and core web technologies.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of existing system architecture, components and related requirements/ specifications.Contribute to all aspects of the systems Quality Assurance process for both new and existing functionality. Test strategy definition, test case specification for both manual and automated testing and test automation. Execute test cases, results analysis, raise bug report and regress all resolved bugs.Quality assurance of customer functionality, system performance, failover/stress testing and operational/error reporting.Liaise with business (product managers and customer support) and development team to identify test requirements. Take part in review of requirement documentation and make sure that it is brought to satisfactory level by its originators.
Manage QA test environments including DB test data and multiple versions of software releases.
Skills/Qualifications Required
Knowledge and extensive experience of automation testing, web applications UI and web services functionality.Experience of automation test tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Green Hat and scripting languages for example perl.Experience of XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Tomcat, Java, Web Services and SQL.Knowledge of application stress, load and performance testing.Experience of testing DB application.Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills, self motivated, high performing and goal oriented.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge and experience with Windows, Linux and Solaris operating systems.

•Review of functional requirements
•Development of new test cases, maintenance of existing test cases
•Development and execution of automated regression test suites
•Development and execution of automated performance test suites
•Manual test execution for new in-house development releases, regression test execution for upgrades to existing in-house releases
•Follow bug fixes through complete lifecycle, i.e. from initial logging to production deployment
•Review of deployment documents for all deployments to production
•Development of or input to production deployment documentation in association with the Software Development and/or Application Support groups

Key Skills/Experience
•B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
•6+ years experience of hands-on software systems testing
•Test specific experience should include the following: test case design, test automation development, test execution (manual and automated), System test, Integration test, Regression test, Performance test, Load/Stability test and bug management
•Technical experience should include the following: Oracle (or other relation database), Windows, real time client/server, Perl (knowledge of at a minimum), SQL
•Proven ability to understand and articulate highly complex systems quickly
•Experience with Unix/Linux is a plus
•Experience with other scripting languages is a plus
•Experience in testing financial applications is a plus, particularly back office and/or order routing systems
•Familiarity with software release management, software support and systems administration would be an advantage
