Description: Senior Project Manager (70% Project management and 30% QA Management )
Job Responsibilities:
The Programme Support & QA PM will support the Programme Manager in the planning, execution and reporting of project activities at programme level. The role will also have responsibility for ensuring that Quality Assurance activities are completed in accordance with the programme Quality Management Plan and that agreed quality standards are being adhered to by the programme team. This is a proactive role, working across the programme team.
Specific responsibilities include –
Programme Management (70%)
• Consolidated project planning – Responsible for the maintenance of the integrated high level programme delivery plan, gathering and collating inputs from project managers and reporting on key milestones
• Management, tracking and reporting of programme financials, including monthly budget reconciliation and forecasting
• Development and collation of status updates and inputs for programme governance forums, steering team meetings and project workshops
• Drive the Risk Management process across the programme – Support Project Managers in the identification, assessment and recording of delivery issues & risks at programme level
• Responsible for action item management and follow-up at programme level – Work with the programme team to effectively manage open actions to completion
• Support the Programme Manager in the collation, evaluation and challenge of management information being provided by Project Managers
• Ownership of the programme change control process – Supporting Project Managers in the creation and evaluation of change requests at programme level
Quality Assurance (30%)
Responsible for reviewing quality of programme delivery in line with the Quality Management Plan –
• Complete reviews of project deliverables to evaluate conformance with defined quality standards and work with deliverable owners to resolve deviations
• Record, track and monitor any programme quality issues – Ensure that remedial actions are identified, allocated and followed through to completion
• Instil a continuous improvement mentality and ethos within the programme ensuring recurrence of issues is limited
• Identify areas of solution development best practice and ensure recommendations are developed to adopt such practices
• Provide reports to the Programme Manager and Risk Function on programme quality
Required Experience:
5+ years Senior Project Management experience, working within large scale programmes, delivering a portfolio of IT and Business change, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:
• Proven experience in project management including project scheduling, project financials, risk & issue management and project change management
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, including Agile
• Excellent knowledge of change control processes and management within an evolving business change programme environment
• Experience of a multi-vendor delivery environment is a distinct advantage
• Proven Quality Management skills where a demonstrable track record in determining quality standards adherence is evident
• Proven experience and knowledge of Quality Management tools and processes within a dynamic and fast paced solution delivery environment
• Self-starter, capable of working under own initiative
• Ability to collaborate and perform as part of a large, dynamic team
• Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels across the programme team and challenge stated positions where required to improve quality
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• High level of competency in the use of project
management tools, particularly the MS Office suite (including MS Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Production of test plans and Strategies in accordance with the software requirements and design specifications.
• Accurate recording of test activities including identification and tracking of defects
• Analysis of actual results arising from test execution.
• Assist in recommending future enhancements and improvements during the test life cycle to improve the effectiveness of the team.
• Chair defect review meetings as required, and verify that all issues are resolved prior to the release to production.

Performance management:

• Sets clear, realistic goals, objectives and performance standards for self and the team.
• Regularly reviews individual’s performance within the team on a one to one basis.

• To manage individual performance of the test analysts including conducting one to ones, giving feedback on performance, conducting performance appraisals, absence management and managing resource requirements. Identifies and manages poor performance in a timely and effective manner.

Description: QA Test Analyst – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The successful candidate will come on board in a senior capacity to join a small team of testers to help develop and maintain IT quality assurance and testing strategies. You will also be responsible for ensuring that testing is carried out in accordance with industry best practice, IT project and implementation methodologies, and complies with audit and regulatory standards

Responsibilities:
• Point of contact for all QA activities for IT projects and BAU activities.
• Develop, maintain and enhance overall QA strategy and standards.
• Own and manage all the testing activities through the system development life cycle, covering system testing, functional integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure that business requirements are met and completed on time, within budget and with a high degree of quality.
• Oversee, manage the design and maintenance of test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test data, test labs and test sets using tools such as Quality Centre, QTP, Excel, MS Project, Word, etc.
• Ensure performance/stress/volume testing of non-functional requirements is carried out
• Drive communication between the testing, business analysis, architecture and development/production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage.
• Resource planning, project and cost estimation, budget development and cost control for the applications/projects in scope from a testing perspective.
• Input to project approval and sign off for all test activity and documentation.
• Review and sign off all third party test documentation
• Management of testing risks and issues.
• Chair test review meetings
You will also be responsible for managing the QA team workload distribution and will liaise with Project Manager, Business Analysts and Architects and Production Support Analysts within the Solution Delivery Team.


Requirements:
• IT Qualification
• Project Management certification would be an advantage.
Skills:
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Linux/Unix Skills a must
• Java / JUnit automated testing is a must, pick two or more from the below
1. Maven driven builds, e.g. some of the JAR, WAR, RPM packaging
2. Jenkins based Continuous Integration

Experience:
• 5 + years QA experience, including work in an onshore/offshore model
• Experience working across full SDLC and different implementation methodologies such as waterfall, iterative development/testing practices such as agile, RUP or test driven development.

Description: The successful candidate will be required to go through the full test lifecycle from requirements validation through to test preparation and test execution for system integration, performance and user acceptance test phases. He/She will also be required to review product and process non-conformance and recommend remedial actions and to ensure that software projects meet pre-defined or acceptable quality standards or business requirements.

Applications under test are typically based on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle data warehouse technologies, .NET web application interfaces and integrate with other systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange and GIS Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and execute user acceptance test plans, test cases, quality assurance policies, documents and procedures.
• Work closely with business analysts at the requirements and analysis phase to facilitate preparation of user acceptance test cases before development commences.
• Design and execution of user acceptance tests, functional tests and system integration tests to agreed delivery dates.
• Generate test data for test cases.
• Assist in verifying that the product is usable and acceptable; functions as intended from the end user’s point of view.
• Provide user acceptance testing support and assist business users to create and execute test scripts.
• Provide live trial training support to business users on the correct use of the applications.
• Coordinate the preparation and setup of testing environments.
• Investigate, document, and log possible software defects during the test execution phases – system test, user acceptance test, integration test and re-test resolved defects when corrected by the Development Team.

Successful candidates may also have

• A background in financial and asset portfolio management systems is highly desirable.
• Experience of data migration testing and testing for data on-boarding would be an advantage.
• Industry recognised software testing certification would be an advantage, e.g. ISTQB.
• Background/understanding of software development life cycle.
• Use of industry standard software testing and defect tracking tools would be an advantage, e.g. Mercury Test Director, Bugzilla, JIRA, Aimstep, DN Tracker.
• Exposure to Industry Standards for IT & software processes, e.g. ITIL, COBIT.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint in the context of document management is highly desirable.
• A good understanding of some scripting or programming languages. It is not required to be an experienced developer but it would be a distinct advantage to a good understanding of structured programming methods and the ability to understand and write SQL and .NET ASP.
