Required Skills

Description: QA Systems Tester

Overview:

My Dublin based Financial Services client who are just based off the M50 are currently recruiting for a QA Systems Tester to join their existing.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

The QA Systems Tester is responsible for supporting quality standards in the development of systems solutions. In partnership with Application Development staff, Quality Assurance professionals will participate in the planning, creation and execution of testing activities (including acceptance and regression).

QA Systems Tester have an understanding of applicable programming languages, testing tools and systems life cycle testing. Excellent oral and written communications are an essential element of the role, with an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
• Provides support for multiple QA activities. Is self managed to react to and provide support to both IT and business teams.
• Support the use of quality assurance programs, including: best practices/methodologies, QA and end-to-end testing or tool selection, automation and use.
• Delivers business documents related to quality assurance programs that could include best practices, testing or tool support.
• Ensures appropriate test environment exists for testing work.
• As part of the quality assurance team, promotes automated tool use where appropriate.
• Initiates quality assurance approaches, including new and improved testing processes.


Skills & Experience:
Non-Technical
• Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
• Ability to conceptualize and contribute to delivery of multiple IT projects as part of the quality assurance team.
• Several years experience in financial services industry

Technical
• IT Degree, technical training or equivalent work experience
* Broad knowledge of data processing with knowledge of related systems applications and/or technologies


Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

Description: A QA Engineer is required for a Top Financial Services Company based in Cork to work in the delivery and support of a Teradata Data Warehouse project. This is a permanent role. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in a Data warehouse QA role or similar, Teradata experience is a distinct advantage.

The Job:
This individual will work in a new project to implement a Data Warehouse environment to meet the companies reporting and BI requirements alongside a number of operational deliverables. They will participate in the establishment of a process and procedures for verification and reconciliation and quality assurance of new data input to and output from this environment. In addition they will be instrumental in the implementation of automated testing scripts to assist in the efficient management of regression testing
As our QA Engineer, you will:
* Provide Data Warehouse Based Testing
* Build, maintain, and extend regression and automation test suites & strategy.
* Be Responsible for the developing planning, execution, scheduling, and reporting of test suites
* Participate as a team member in testing, analysis, process management to identify and communicate risks.
* Respond to dynamic situations while maintaining adherence to best principals
* Build alliances with business owners, product owners, developers, and operations
* Recommend solutions to technical issues and participate in architecting solutions
* Create black and white box automated tests as appropriate
* Drive continuous improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness
* Serve as a resource in the full development cycle, end-to-end, from conception, design, implementation and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance
* Accomplish aggressive goals and meet strict deadlines

Your qualifications should include:
* 2 years in software QA, development, or configuration management
* 2 years as part of a highly collaborative team of software and quality assurance engineers, product owners and the business owners
* 3 years of IT/IS experience
* Demonstratable knowledge of and hands-on experience with SQL and or SSIS would be desirable
* Strong experience with testing/debugging Data Warehouse and BI
* Strong understanding and experience with RDBMS systems such as Teradata, Oracle or Sybase

Description: My Dublin based client currently requires a QA tester to join their existing team in a permanent position.
QA Tester Experience:
• Experience working in an agile development team
• Experience with QA tracking tools such as Test Director or JIRA and using these tools to effectively communicate and manage defects.
• Ability to read user stories and requirement documents to produce detailed test scripts
• Previous experience testing web user interfaces, ETL and reporting systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to use SQL to verify report results with the database.
• Previous work with Cucumber/Gherkin or similar BDD tool to enable automated testing is a definite plus.
• Good written and verbal skills
Specific Experience:
• An understanding of securities and fund processes is a definite plus
• Prior work testing Jasper reports or other BI reporting systems

Junior Test Analyst (UAT)
• Experience in the creation and writing of user test scenarios and scripts as a subject matter expert.
• Experience in identifying, escalating and resolving test related issues.
• Familiar with how systems relate to business processes
• Experience in working in a multi layered technology environment (back end to Web front end)
• Preferable to have Mortgage or financial services related experience or equivalent complex product
• Ability to read and understand business change requirements
• Experience in supporting others in test scripts execution
• Experience in educating users, some process mapping and procedure gene
• Personable and good interpersonal skills
