MS SQL DEVELOPER
Large Financial Services institution has a requirement for two experienced SQL Developers to join a development team supporting a range of applications and databases used by the Treasury department. A major project is currently underway to migrate the database platform used by many of these applications from Sybase to SQL Server 2012.
The successful candidate will be required to join the small team of analysts and developers taking part in this migration project in order to provide additional development capacity as well as ongoing change management and support.
Requirements profile of candidate:-
- IT related degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years SQL Server development experience - preferably in SQL Server 2005/2008
- Experience of full database development lifecycle - systems analysis, functional & technical specifications, design, testing and implementation
- Design and implementation of robust, scalable and efficient database systems
- Query Optimization and Performance Tuning of existing applications and databases
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to understand complex problems and to generate appropriate technical solutions
Desirable Skills :-
- SQL Server 2012
- Experience in Banking/Finance sector a plus
- Experience with DBA activities such as backups, data sizing and hardware requirements
- ASP.Net
- Knowledge of and/or exposure to Sybase Transact SQL or Oracle PL/SQL
