Overview:
My Dublin City Centre based client is currently recruiting for a Senior Product Tester. This is a permanent role with an excellent Financial Services client.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of existing system architecture, components and related requirements/specifications.
Contribute to all aspects of the systems Quality Assurance process for both new and existing functionality. Test strategy definition, test case specification for both manual and automated testing and test automation.
Execute test cases, results analysis, raise bug report and regress all resolved bugs.
Quality assurance of customer functionality, system performance, failover/stress testing and operational/error reporting.
Liaise with business (product managers and customer support) and development team to identify test requirements. Take part in review of requirement documentation and make sure that it is brought to satisfactory level by its originators.
Manage QA test environments including DB test data and multiple versions of software releases.
Experience/Qualifications:
Knowledge and extensive experience of automation testing, web applications UI and web services functionality.
Strong experience of automation test tools such as Selenium, JMeter, Green Hat and scripting languages.
Experience of XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Tomcat, Java, Web Services and SQL.
Knowledge of application stress, load and performance testing.
Experience of testing DB application.
Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills, self-motivated, high performing and goal oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge and experience with Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
Desirable:
Expertise and experience with relational databases.
Experience with secure development.
BSc/MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience working with and successfully migrating legacy systems.
Worked in Scrum Agile development environment
Academic Qualification: Computer Science Degree

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
The QA Systems Tester is responsible for supporting quality standards in the development of systems solutions. In partnership with Application Development staff, Quality Assurance professionals will participate in the planning, creation and execution of testing activities (including acceptance and regression).
QA Systems Tester have an understanding of applicable programming languages, testing tools and systems life cycle testing. Excellent oral and written communications are an essential element of the role, with an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Provides support for multiple QA activities. Is self managed to react to and provide support to both IT and business teams.
Support the use of quality assurance programs, including: best practices/methodologies, QA and end-to-end testing or tool selection, automation and use.
Delivers business documents related to quality assurance programs that could include best practices, testing or tool support.
Ensures appropriate test environment exists for testing work.
As part of the quality assurance team, promotes automated tool use where appropriate.
Initiates quality assurance approaches, including new and improved testing processes.
Skills & Experience:
Non-Technical
Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
Ability to conceptualize and contribute to delivery of multiple IT projects as part of the quality assurance team.
Several years experience in financial services industry
Technical
IT Degree, technical training or equivalent work experience

The candidate should possess:
A minimum of 3 years working as a software test engineer designing and developing automated tests using VB / C#
Experience working with Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio
Strong knowledge of .NET Framework
Experience testing thick client and web applications, API, and Web Services
Strong knowledge of SQL Server - run queries, read stored procedures and troubleshoot problems
Experience with Continuous Integration
Ability to work both independently and with a team to meet project testing goals
Initiative to learn new skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (including fluent English)
A keen interest in technology
Third level qualification in Computer Science / Engineering or a related discipline
Desirable skills:

Requirements:

Min Experience:

Thorough knowledge of structure test methods and processes
Role Background:
My Client is currently looking to appoint an Automation Engineer within the Test Unit to develop test automation strategy, maintain a test automation framework and develop a test case tracking system for the Unit.
Working closely with the Head of Test,a core element of the role will be the identification of automation opportunities and they will have responsibility for continuous automation improvement within the Unit. In addition they will develop various test data creation tools and other testing tools needed to support the quality assurance team
Key Responsibilities will fall under 3 headings:
Strategic
Defining and expanding the Automation Framework
Identifying key automation efficiency gains across the estate - Automation analysis of core components/systems
Quantifying the benefits of automation via cost analysis
Setting up and managing the automation architecture and identifying tooling to be used
Providing Expert understanding of key automation tooling, such as QTP
Work with Test Managers to identify automation opportunities at the program level
Provide resource planning and demand management for test automation
Project
Overseeing the preparation of the automation strategy for individual Projects
Defining/extract automation requirements from various sources of information
Understand and perform risk mitigation to meet deadlines
Provide automation enhancement recommendations based on data analysis
Work with Test Manager, System Leads, Business Analysts, and Application Developers to create requirements for test automation to support complexity, schedule and risk mitigation
People
Managing the automation team with demonstrated ability in motivating and managing colleagues and vendors
Direct test automation engineers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of automated test cases during appropriate phases of testing
Manage and promote the usage of test automation tools. (e.g. conduct training and knowledge sharing sessions for testing team as needed)
In addition to the essential experience required, the following experience is desirable:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in problem solving, decision making, influencing, change management, written and oral communications along with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Experience with optimizing deployment of human and hardware resources within a multi-project organization
Demonstrated ability to work independently with an aptitude for supervising/directing resources along with a proven history of making lifecycle process improvement
Technical expertise in automation methodologies and tools
Resource management / demand forecasting skills
Strategic technical resource planning skills
Excellent demonstrated ability of managing vendors
