Business Analyst (Software Company)

I have a financial software company based in Dublin City Centre that is looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to join their growing team. This is a senior analysis role in the Product Management team

The candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the core product offering, including analysis, definition and documentation of business and functional requirements, release management, industry and domain analysis and overall product packaging and delivery.

Main Responsibilities:
• Full lifecycle delivery of product change, including the creation of detailed functional specification documentation for the product in line with company and industry best practices, support and review of Engineering team delivery and maintenance of product documentation
• Support the creation and maintenance of internal and external product packaging, including core documentation suite
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members
• Support and champion the implementation of best practice approaches to business analysis within the company
• Research and analysis into business, regulatory and technical topics to support the formulation and specification of product requirements and solution design
• Support training and knowledge transfer to product, engineering and professional services colleagues
• Provide SME support and knowledge transfer to the Sales / Pre-Sales teams and Professional Services client-facing project teams

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years business analysis experience, preferably in the financial services industry
• Knowledge of Capital Markets industry and products, particularly relating to client and product onboarding would be advantageous
• Software development lifecycle practices
• Expertise in industry standard modelling tools and methods
• Good knowledge of IT systems, architectures and terminology. Along with skills in database and reporting.

This role has a significant commercial and technical dimension using specialist skills. The role requires excellent project management and communication skills and a broad understanding of eCommerce solutions, best practice design, innovation and gold medal customer interaction. Integral to the role is the requirement to understand commercial objectives, ensure high quality solutions are delivered that adhere to industry best practice and corporate guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Include:
• Conception, Analysis, and design of new online product offerings
• Delivery of best practice standards and corporate guidelines
• Commercial awareness of market conditions and delivery of supporting products
• Ability to give creative direction to both internal and external agencies
• Creating prototypes, scenarios and test cases & Implementing high quality successful product offerings
• Applying user centered design practices and ensuring robust and modern design practices and methodologies

To be considered for the role of Senior UX Designer, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria:
• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Interactive Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related disciplines
• Ability to work closely with Designers, Product Owners and Developers
• Demonstrable portfolio of work
• Professional experience in coding HTML and CSS
• Strong understanding of user research, wire framing, personas and other HCI methods
• Experience using version control systems; experience with Git preferred
• In depth knowledge of user interface design principals, responsive web design, user centric design processes, accessibility and usability methodologies.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken




Key Competencies / Skills Required:
• The ability to both project manage and collaborate actively in a multi-disciplinary team
• A creative thinker, paired with strong analytical ability
• A good knowledge of web, desktop and mobile design, information architecture, and usability principles and best practices
• Technical and commercial understanding of SEO impact on a business, and ability to influence business decisions
• Understand the principles of usability, UX and design
• Relevant work experience is required with an up to date online portfolio demonstrating commercial application and interface design

Desirable Criteria:
• Experience with bug tracking, and workflow applications/tools
• Experience working with Agile frameworks and processes
• Knowledge of Java and J2EE Application Frameworks, such as Spring, a plus
• Knowledge of Accessibility Standards both for Websites and for Web Applications
• Manipulating Web-ready graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator

The successful candidate will come on board in a senior capacity to join a small team of testers to help develop and maintain IT quality assurance and testing strategies. You will also be responsible for ensuring that testing is carried out in accordance with industry best practice, IT project and implementation methodologies, and complies with audit and regulatory standards

Responsibilities:
• Point of contact for all QA activities for IT projects and BAU activities.
• Develop, maintain and enhance overall QA strategy and standards.
• Own and manage all the testing activities through the system development life cycle, covering system testing, functional integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure that business requirements are met and completed on time, within budget and with a high degree of quality.
• Oversee, manage the design and maintenance of test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, test data, test labs and test sets using tools such as Quality Centre, QTP, Excel, MS Project, Word, etc.
• Ensure performance/stress/volume testing of non-functional requirements is carried out
• Drive communication between the testing, business analysis, architecture and development/production support teams to ensure each requirement has adequate test coverage.
• Resource planning, project and cost estimation, budget development and cost control for the applications/projects in scope from a testing perspective.
• Input to project approval and sign off for all test activity and documentation.
• Review and sign off all third party test documentation
• Management of testing risks and issues.
• Chair test review meetings
You will also be responsible for managing the QA team workload distribution and will liaise with Project Manager, Business Analysts and Architects and Production Support Analysts within the Solution Delivery Team.


Requirements:
• IT Qualification
• Project Management certification would be an advantage.
Skills:
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Linux/Unix Skills a must
• Java / JUnit automated testing is a must, pick two or more from the below
1. Maven driven builds, e.g. some of the JAR, WAR, RPM packaging
2. Jenkins based Continuous Integration
3. PHP / PHPunit automated testing
4. SeleniumNG web testing

Experience:
• 5 + years QA experience, including work in an onshore/offshore model
• Experience working across full SDLC and different implementation methodologies such as waterfall, iterative development/testing practices such as agile, RUP or test driven development.
• Rich technology experience and good exposure to the latest advancements in QA/testing.
